The author offers revolutionary ideas springing from everyday conditions we have all complained about. Tired of over-regulation, excessive taxation, poor schools, mediocre care of children in this democratic society? Education, taxation, role of the federal and state government, personal responsibility, parental responsibility, religion, law and order are the issues. Solutions call for replacing government intervention with personal responsibility for one's self and for others, especially for children. There are absolutely new tax proposals, well beyond a "flat tax."

Andrew Ian Dodge, an '89 graduate of Colby College (Maine), writes from his 15 years experience working in politics in the United States and in the United Kingdom. A prolific writer of fiction, the thirty-two-year old author in this book offers his ideas to benefit general political discussion.

    Great generational adaptation

    Anrew Dodge has brought modern sensibility to classic ideas on freedom. While many members of 'Generation X' may have trouble relating with Locke, Mill, or de Tocqueville, Dodge gives a basic primer for the ideals they spoke so well in their own times.

    Book isnt very good

    Kind of Dry, doesnt make much sense. Hes stretching it too far.

    A Nice Libertarian Primer.

    Statism Sucks is a great starting point for anyone interested in Liberarian ideas. Dodge makes these ideas come alive and incorporates a cyberpunk ethos into good old fashioned 19th century classic liberalism.
