Lynn Viehl provides an interesting entry in her wonderful urban fantasy saga

Still an outlaw after seven centuries of first being declared as such by King John¿s merry losers, immortal Darkyn Lord Robin of Locksley knows he must intercede when the ancient mythical tome Maiden's Book of Hours is stolen and not by him; he waited for over five hundred years for this book that contains the only picture of his long lost love Marian to surface. Undercover FBI agent Christina Renshaw is appalled with the theft since she is the one who dangled the priceless book to catch a brilliant art thief. Since the thieves also have takes hostages, the FBI is even more involved. Christina and Robin meet and are instantly attracted and conflicted as to what to do; that is on recovering the Maiden's Book of Hours and saving the captives.

Robin's long time enemy Nottingham has joined forces with an obsessed deadly Kyn female. His adversary¿s diabolical scheme leaves Robin with little choice, but to yank a stunned Chris into the Darkyn realm. Soon the pair is in Europe where Darkyn lords are meeting as all hell in breaking out.

Tthe overarching Darkyn saga moves forward (see TWILIGHT FALLS, NIGHT LOST and IF ANGELS BURN) while also telling the romantic suspense tale of Robin the Prince of Thieves, Lynn Viehl provides an interesting entry in her wonderful urban fantasy saga. The story line focuses on the lead couple¿s search for the Renaissance Era book while also continuing the war between the Darkyn and the Brethren. With a couple of late stunning spins and a reference to Coleridge, the powerful riveting Darkyn chronicles will have sub-genre fans anxious to learn what the author will unveil next.

    I want more!

Surely there has to be another book coming out about Alexandra's brother John! I love the Darkyn and their feisty lifemates. What a wonderful series which left me gasping! If it was a movie, I would have been on the edge of my seat, while at the same time cheering for my heroes. Please say there will be more! Great writing skills and kudos to the author.

    Awesome and sad.

I really love this series and recommended it to all my friends and they love it too. We were all sad to hear they stopped after Stay the Night we were anxious to see what happened next. But i am sure we will love the next series just as much as we loved the Darkyn.

I liked this book. Plenty of romance and plenty of action. The ending is surprising to say the least.

Stay The Night A Novel Of The Darkyn

Robin of Locksley has been a thief of fine art and of women's hearts for seven hundred years. One night in a bar he runs across Chris Renshaw, who is the one woman who can resist him. After a one night stand in which Chris leaves Robin, he pursues her, not realizing she's a FBI agent who is after him. Mean while a war between the Brethren and the Kyn is escalating

This book unlike the others have two different story lines going on at the same time. I didn't enjoy this as much as I did the previous books. It took me some time to get through. But the characters of Robin and Nottingham, and their issues, made it worth while. Warning there is a scene of M/M sex. It didn't bother me, but it might bother other readers.

    GREAT READ!!!!!!!!

This book is a great addition to the Darkyn series. I love Lynn Viehl's books. I enjoy the way she puts several stories altogether in one.

    Good, but explicit

Great plot, interesting and well-developed characters. Good writing. Beware, though -- very explicit sex scenes.

Really disappointed in this book! I LOVE the Darkyn series and Lynn Viehl is one of my favorite authors, but I feel like she sold out on this book. It feels like she's grown tired of the characters and the series.

Typically, I can't put a Darkyn novel down and I've read them all more than once, given them as gifts, and enjoyed them just as much the second time as the first. I think I got the first copy of this one when it came to my local B&N. But this one was seriously disappointing from the very beginning. The character development of the female protagonist, Chris, was sketchy. She never seemed 'fully formed'--and as a reader, I never felt I knew who she was. I didn't think the author knew her either. Also there was too much gratuitous sex. The author is a master of sexual tension, so I was surprised at the uncharacteristic lack of it in Stay the Night. I was also bummed about the way Alex handled her discovery--that, too, was uncharacteristic of the woman we've all come to know and love--and I absolutely loathed the decision she made for Robin's character in the end. It felt like a copout. The whole book just gave me the impression that Lynn Viehl is ready to move on and has lost her passion for the Darkyn...and that is the biggest disappointment.

    Not your mother's vampire

And thank goodness for that! Lynn Viehl has her own take on the Vampire genre and this latest installment is just one more link in bringing more converts into her fold. The charm is how she ties Medieval history with current characters, somehow offering a plausible explanation for both. Loved it!

    A good addition

This novel added another dimension into the series. I was a little bit disappointed on how the characters are forced to be left human. Now the series will lose a loyal warrior with in time and is left in a vulnerable way than the main hero's friends or brothers in arms.

    Was ok

I found this book to just be ok. I really liked the previous books in the series, and this one is a must if you want to continue to move forward. There was a lot more about Luisa and it seemed like the author was planning on making her a big part in the story to come. For some reason I just didn't feel engaged in Robin and Chris's story. I am hoping the next one will be better.

    Oh please..... [spoilers]

This was by far the most disappointing installation in this series to date. At least we'd better not hear Alex whine about Kyn anymore.... but to essentially end robin's involvement in the series, when he was one of the most interesting charactars. Its funny that everytime she creates a character that I would truly like to read more of, she diminishes them (gabriel and Nick) or essentially kills them off. I haven't truly liked one of these books since evermore, and I'm soooooo..... tired of alex's whining, and john's inner conflict... lets move on... There were some good parts here, and I loved the intertwining of the Robin hood tale with "actual" people.... and like that they've made some progress with the pathogen... but the rest of the book was underdeveloped.... seriously... what was Chris's special power? it was never really developed, its as if... She's an orphan.. thus she must be one of the kyndred, I don't know but I think i'll wait to buy the next installment until I can get it used.
