I purchased several of these books by this author because they are set in the finger lakes region of upstate new york. I, too, live in this area. Tomkins County is the home of two prestigious universities, Cornell and Ithaca College . I can assure you I have never encountered people who speak like hicks as depicted by Doreen,,Marge, the mayor etc. The author has failed to capture the charm of this area. Throwing in a gorge in the Inns backyard just didn't cut it. Also, the editing in these books Is sorely lacking. The entire contents in the letter written by Dr. Phillipone was missing and there were several typos throughout the two books I have read so far.
