I found this to be too formulaic. The examples from a multitude of classic movies were helpful in illustrating the author's point, but his advice seems guaranteed to produce a book or movie script ridden with cliches. Make your villain the worst possible villain anyone has ever seen? I don't think so. Instead of relying on sensational perversities and wrongdoings, some subtlety seems in order. The constant references to Jungian archetypes also annoyed me. I wish that the author had encouraged the audience to think outside of the box. He seems to advocate a stereotypical fantasy story, which is another thing--this guide seems heavily oriented to an action/adventure storyline.
