Love may be just a game, but the baseball players in Jennifer Seasons' sexy diamonds and dugouts series— they're playing for keeps!

Mark Cutter has it all: a lucrative baseball career, fast cars, and faster women—and all thanks to his priceless good luck charm. At least, that's what he thinks before Lorelei Littleton shows up. Next thing he knows, he's waking up alone, the sexy brunette has vanished, and his good luck charm is gone. More than a little curious about the wicked-hot cat burglar and determined to get his property back, Mark's going to track down the thief and make her pay—big time.

Maybe Lorelei feels a tiny bit guilty for stealing Mark's good luck charm, but when it's worth $100,000 and the money could save her niece's life? She's not losing sleep over it . . . but him? Lorelei can't get the ballplayer with the bad attitude out of her head. And now he's come after her with more than just revenge in his eyes. Lorelei has a choice: turn over the charm and lose the money, or keep it and risk losing everything . . . including her heart.

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Lorelei Littleton thinks that major league baseball catcher Mark Cutter is just another overindulged, superrich ballplayer who cheated on his ex-wife and deserves a little payback. And she desperately needs the $100,000 his ex is going to pay her to finance her niece’s open heart surgery. But Mark’s ex is the cheating liar, and his past isn’t any more privileged than Lorelei’s. He just has major league talent that’s taken him to some very high places, like being the star of Denver’s baseball team. Yet when Mark meets Lorelei as she seduces and robs him, he discovers that he wants something real, and Lorelei, along with whatever reasons she is hiding for her deception, just might be it.

Verdict This sports romance is based on a series of classic “misunderstandammits” because neither party trusts the other—and with good reason. But they have seriously hot chemistry from their very first meeting, and it keeps this enemies-into-friends story cooking as they slowly reveal their vulnerabilities. Just in time for baseball season; if you like the “boys of summer,” you’ll root for these two finally to make it “home.”—Marlene Harris, Seattle P.L.

    Plot spoilers

No need to read this thank to the many plot spoilers that ruined it by revealing the entire book, including the one that included quotes! Way to go! And before some smart aleck says dont read them, i dont, but when you try and scroll past miles of posts trying to find a real review, you usually end up seeing something that spoils the book. I wish you ppl would learn to write a real review and not a book report. Bn please do something to these pll and their constant spoiling of books for other readers.

Off topic posts & a review

If youre not actually reviewing the book just complaining about another review be it a spoiler or another kind you actually bring down the entirw review by only leaving ONE STAR. Thats not fair to the author. So if you must complain and its everyones right to do ao, at least leave 2 or 3 stars.
Now I actually enjoyed this book, it was a fun sexy read and have added the other 2 to my wish list. Always happy to find a new author to add to my list!

Stealing Home was fun fun FUN! I love a good contemporary romanc

Stealing Home was fun fun FUN! I love a good contemporary romance (duh) and I am a huge sucker for a sports romance at that, so I was extremely excited to jump into this story. My expectations were definitely met, and exceeded.

It seems that most romances feature a shy, naive heroine who is subjected to the arrogance and hyped-up libido of the charming man who wants to make her his. And that's cool...but, Stealing Home is sooo not that story and I loved that. Lorelei Littleton is a desperate woman and a would-be thief. Her niece is dying, and she's given an opportunity to make the money to save her, and it is too good to pass up. All she has to do is steal the lucky charm of professional baseball player. Easy, huh? Well, even though Lorelei has a good plan, things don't go according to plan when the mark is a drop-dead sexy, charming man who makes you weak in the knees. I felt for Lorelei, I really did. There's not much I wouldn't do to save someone I love. But damn, this woman has her eye on the prize and she is ruthless. So even though I sympathized with her, I did have a hard time really liking Lorelei. However as the story moves along and Lorelei begins to soften towards Mark and really open up with her fun, sexy personality, I enjoyed her a lot. Major bonus points for Lorelei not being the shrinking violet, too. She was a woman who didn't shy away from her sexual nature, and I loved that. She was a great, great fit for Mark.

Okay, Mark. This is where things get fun. I'm not one to ogle athletes that much. Basketball, football, and hockey players don't really do it for me. But give me a good looking baseball player (or swimmer, come on), and I'm going to take notice. I'm going to say it's the arms and the uniforms that do it for me. [Sidenote: I blame my dad for making me watch the SF Giants religiously as a kid. My first crush was first baseman Will Clark.] So anyway, Mark Cutter is a MLB catcher in Denver, one of the best in the league. The world is his; money, prestige, women, and he loves it. But Mark is more than he seems, and he has some serious emotional baggage that is weighing him down. And naturally, he's pissed when the woman he intended to seduce winds up stealing his lucky charm, and he's determined to get it back. The complication is that Lorelei is just about the sexiest woman he's ever seen. She's a natural beauty, sexy, flirty, and seriously going to drive him crazy. I loved that Mark was a truly nice guy, and was the pursuer, wanted a real relationship with Lorelei. He has some issues that have made him insecure, which I'm not going to really go into here. And yes, he's a nice guy, but let's just say that Mr. Mark Cutler is a very naughty man in the bedroom. And he has a filthy mouth. SCORE.

(Incidentally, I talked at least five women into buying Stealing Home on release day simply based on Mark being a baseball player with a dirty mouth. )

When it comes to a fun, sweet, romantic, and suuuuper steamy story, Stealing Home really had it all. This book had me smiling almost the entire time I was reading. I really adored the characters, especially Mark (omg!), the road to them finding true love, and let's just say, this story really hit the spot when it comes to steam. I was dying a few times! It wrapped up in the absolute best way possible. I will be so excited to read the next Diamonds and Dugouts book this summer!

    Awesome!

This was a great written book. Not too much baseball, or sex just the right combination. The plot itself was a little off the wall but it all worked. I couldnt put it down. I always hate too much blah blah blah this writing kept it going and interesting the whole time. Cant wait for the series to continue.

Stealing Home is the first book in Jennifer Seasons' Diamonds and Dugouts series. It's fun, romantic, quirky and sexy... a truly entertaining story!

I'm a big fan of Contemporary Romance, and this one is just right. It has all the things I most enjoy in my reads, and a terrific supporting cast as well.

The story line is one that tugs at the heartstrings, and starts a chain of events that can't be stopped, without someone landing in prison. I enjoyed the way that all played out, and I really enjoyed the time we spent in Mark's head during his time behind the plate. I've never been much of a baseball fan, and don't know a lot about the sport, but Ms. Seasons didn't get all sport techy and I actually found myself very interested in the game play.

Mark and Lorelei are both great characters, and their chemistry and quick wit made for some great reading. Mark really is the perfect hero... sexy, funny, compassionate - but by no means a pushover... from the start I wanted him to have everything his heart desired. Lorelei annoyed me here and there because she wouldn't open up and explain why she so desperately needed the money, even though she'd been caught red-handed and had nothing to lose. But still, I couldn't help but admire her devotion to her family and her determination to help them.

The bottom line: Stealing Home is a great start to the Diamonds and Dugouts series, and sitting here writing this review, I've got a grin on my face thinking of some of the stunts Lorelei pulled, and how Mark fought back. It's safe to say that I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.

My thanks to Avon Books and Edelweiss for providing me with a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.

Tahnk you 'plot spoiler for saying what you did. I just hate to see all that. I think they like to 'hear' themselves talk. They think they actually have somethingto say! What I want in a review is to know how much sexual content there is and a brief description. That's it! kind regards,

Might be a small thing, but when the cover of a book depicts a main character as blond and the first page of the book describes them as dark haired - I mean come on and pay attention.

I mean really...I saw baseball player. That's just about all I needed to know that I had to read this book. Well, that and my BFF said it was great! Stealing Home was sweet, but definitely very sexy too!

Mark Cutter is absolutely divine. He's a star catcher and can have any woman he wants. Mark is charming, sweet, sexy, and a bit funny at times too. The problem is, he has a bitter ex-wife. She's out to get him. That's how he meets Lorelei. She needs some quick cash to help out her family. So, she takes a deal from Mark's ex. However, she never expected to fall for the guy. What starts out as a lie, turns into love. This couple has major chemistry. Mark and Lorelei were sexy, sexy. Looking at the cover, you may not think that this is a sexy book, but it sure did get my heart rate up!

Overall, I really liked this one. I've also read the second book in the series, which features one of Mark's teammates, JP. I really liked that one too and will be posting my review for that one soon. But, the book I really want, is Mark sister Leslie's book. I loved getting to know her in this book and can't wait to see who she ends up with. I have my fingers crossed for someone in particular, so I can't wait to see if I'm right. If you're looking for a fast, sexy read, check this one out! You can't go wrong with sexy baseball players. Am I right?!?!

    Quotes:
~She was falling for the catcher with the fast hands.-Loc 2444

~Men like him didn't make love-they had sex. They didn't fall in love-they made women fall in love with them. And when they were bored or things got too real they bailed. Plain and simple.-2598

~"...The truth is, I'm crazy for you. Totally, completely, hopelessly in love with you. And I hope you can forgive me."-3996

Good steamy scenes, that are realistc and believable but overall not a great read. Theres a lot of descriptive text rather than dialogue and I prefer dialogue over descriptive text.
