The dream train pulls into the station and the animal workers load the train with bouncy-balls, pogo-sticks, ice cream, hoola-hoops and other fun toys! Everything needed for sweet dreams! Why I liked this book – First of all, I love the GORGEOUS illustrations! They’re wonderful to look at! The rhyme is magnificent! I love the onomatopoeia in it and it sounds like the chug chug of a train. I like that it teaches the purpose of each train car! (ex: “The autorack will gently keep these fast, fast cars”…) I think it is imaginative to see all the sweet dream things the animals load onto the train. It will definitely give kids things to have nice dreams about! **NOTE I got a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I bought this book for my six-year-old son for Christmas because there was a train, a giraffe, and a monkey on the cover -- in that order. I also bought it because I know a little of Rinker's writing. I can't comment on how much my son likes this book until after Christmas, but I loved it.
I'm not sure who loves this book more, my 16 month old son or my husband! A great book for dads and their sons. The illustrations are colorful enough to be engaging, but subtle enough not to rouse a tired child. There are enough truck sounds to appease father AND son! They love this book as much as the previous book from this author, Goon Night, Good Night Construction Site. My husband can't wait for the next book to come out!
Expecting another remarkably clever bedtime book from Rinker, I was disappointed. The rhyming and subtleties in the illustrations of "...Construction Site" are missing here.
A must have for little train lovers!! The book flows beautifully, the illustrations are captivating and my kids are begging for this every night. Huge fans of this new book, as well as their previous, Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site. Your kids will love to listen to these books. And you will love reading them!
