Paul Zarzyski, word-wrangler extraordinaire, poetically paints lite-hearted pictures in Steering with My Knees, letting the kid locked inside his cowboy-lean frame come out to play. No soft-spoken, syrupy words from him. His finely-honed pen hits the page hard, begs the reader to stop, take note and pay attention…to listen to lingo that rocks and rolls around in the brain cells, until reaching the “Ah, ha!” moment… leaving the reader grinning from ear to ear or belly laughing out loud. You can’t just read a Zarzyski poem; you have to savor it!
