My Review: What is Stella going to do about her nervous tummy? The Dragon Realms Talent Contest is tomorrow and she is worried that she will toot fire and stink up the place and ruin her chances of winning. Her friend Allen decided that they should practice until she is no longer nervous. But her stomach gurgle-gurgled and BRRRT! But Allen had a solution, the next day he brought Stella a platter of blueberry muffins. Did the muffins help Stella stop farting and win the completion? Stella had a good friend in Allen who kept on encouraging her. This story will help children believe in themselves that no matter the situation they can overcome it. Just make sure you have a good friend that would stand by you no matter what even if your fart stink¿.LOL! The bold and colorful illustrations by Jack Foster help with the story. I highly recommend this book for your children¿s library and for classroom reading. FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.
Stella the Fire Farting Dragon By J. Aday Kennedy Published by Guardian Angel Publishing As soon as I heard the title of this book from Aday I knew my boys would love it! Stella has to get ready for a talent contest and every time her nerves take hold.. well, she farts fire and all better take cover. Bagpipes aren't her forte, so she tries doing a flying skit and her friend has her practice until she is no longer nervous. The day of the talent show Stella is doing great, eats a blueberry muffin for breakfast and is off to the show after Allen brushes away her blueberry stained teeth and helps to get her ready. Let's just say Stella got a bit nervous on her talent presentation, but the blueberries redeemed her! The crowd thought she planned it. A funny story about friendship and believing in yourself. Aday takes a serious case of the nerves and puts a funny spin on it that will be a joy to young boys and girls alike.. though I am guessing boys really will be the ones laughing. Aday was kind enough to send us a whoopee cushion with Stella on it, and my boys were excited to play along with the story. What I love about Guardian Angel Publishing and the authors there are the defined morals to the stories they publish. It has been a blessing to review books with several of the authors there. J.Aday Kennedy is a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic who refers to herself as The Differently-Abled Writer
This lovely appealing story is very cleverly put together by talented ventilator-dependent quadriplegic author J. Aday Kennedy. Stella wants to enter the Dragon Talent Contest but fears her nervous stomach will let her down causing her to fart fire which smells horrible. Her friend Allen encourages her to enter anyway. He treats her to a blueberry muffin which acts like a magic potion to produce a wonderful surprise ending. The artwork by Jack Foster is superbly colourful and striking. Kids will love it.
