    Short, Rah Rah, & insight.

This is the first book I've read about Apple. It reveals Steve's history of Product Development and the Apple Culture that results in what is described as "The Apple Way". It also reveals why Apple struggled when he left and the triumphed when he returned. I've worked in a software development (test engineer) for many years, usually in creating an application that was derived from the customers' specs. Even with SMEs (subject matter experts) guiding the development of the Human Interface, the end users perspective usually was not considered. Steve has a good sense of how a product should look and feel, as well as the simplicity of usage.
Jay praised Steve throughout the book (Rah, Rah). Most of it justifiable, however a bit repetitious. Jay also states that Apple will succeed, even without Steve. The (Jobs) culture is ingrained with the key players as well as the workforce and contractors.
For the price, the book was a bit brief, but I was glad I read it for the insight of both Steve and "The Apple Way" of prduct development.

    Awesome read

I appreciate Jobs' ability to focus, move Apple from his parent's garage, reach the pennicle, loose his company, start another company, become CEO of another company in a totally different field and become massively successful at that endeavor and regain control of his company that we was ousted and make it the most valuable company in history; all the while combatting his own demons. Brilliantly written.

    The Steve Jobs Way

¿We¿re here to put a dent in the universe,¿ said Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer and then chairman and CEO of Apple Inc. Today, all personal computers incorporate a version of the mouse-driven graphical user interface that Jobs perfected and popularized. The guiding spirit behind the Macintosh computer, iPod, iPad, iPhone and iTunes, Jobs is an American corporate legend. Few people worked more closely with him than Jay Elliot, a former senior vice president at Apple. In this business biography, written before Jobs died, Elliot and co-author William L. Simon detail Jobs¿s corporate achievements, his attention to product detail and his visionary leadership. getAbstract recommends their revealing profile to those compelled by or curious about the genius of Jobs.

    to study at the university

That is a great example how to write in simple language a good book. if it would be completed with numbers and diagram, probably it would be the best book for student of economy and not only for them.

Excellent book about Apple's management approach and life at Apple in general

A really good book that provides decent insight behind the scenes of Apple from a guy who worked closely with him through the good the bad and the good years (again).

This is not like the kind of fawning, half-guessed, half-true unauthorized biographies you see. Yes, there is a certain element of repeating the basic tenet "Steve Jobs is tyrannical about details and a super-perfectionist" but it goes far beyond this in explaining how Apple gets the best out of the best people.

If you're serious about doing business in the modern technology arena this book is ESSENTIAL reading.
