It may be old but it is timeless! Full of great wisdom and empathy...but mainly, it made me and that's a wonderful gift when your heart is heavy. What a wonderful little book!!

I remember reading this book as a wide-eyed 15yr old.....brought so much joy to my heart in resting on the father's love that brings so much joy! Been looking for a copy for 18yrs now! Than God for the Nook!

I read another title by this author and loved her wit and humor, so I thought I'd give this one a try. I was offended by the way she wrote about her son being a homosexual. The hatred towards such an "offense" made me close the book immediately. I tried to stick it out, but only became more upset as I continued to read. Granted, the book was written over 20 years ago, perhaps in a time when homosexuality had a different view than today. As a Christian, I understand that not everyone agrees on this issue. I also understand that there is a way to disagree with respect- which I didn't find apparent in this book. The negativity and hatred towards homosexuals in this book saddened me.

This book is a must read for anyone who is alive. It's humor and wit is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face. I will return to it many times I am sure as the small hiccups of life continue to bombard! I thank God for such a blessing He has placed amongst us with Barbara and her wit.

I like this book, because the author wrote it in some special words that everyone can understand. I'm reading the book again, because you caugth more hints of what she want to say than in the first reading. I feel like her, because the sons are equal in the whole world. They have the same thougths, the same way to conduct, the same feelings and much more. All the things she mention in the book are the real world. I recommend this book to all Moms and sons.
