Overview

There isn't much difference between Sticks and Stones and New Found Glory's prior, self-titled MCA effort. It's highly accomplished, energetic punk-pop, the harmonies radiating youthful cheer, Jordan Pundik's lead vocals adding a tinge of youthful defiance and vulnerability. It's much more upbeat, for instance, than the opening lines of the opening cut, "Understatement," might portend: "I'm sick of smiling, and so is my jaw." Could it be that they're tiring of their usual upbeat demeanor and slyly slipping in a subversive message there? Not likely -- most of these are still upbeat if ambivalent songs about tense relationship growing pains and breakups, though sometimes colored with the wider territory of finding inner strength, dealing with loss, and coming out of rough experiences for the better. It's more engaging than exciting, and though it sounds pretty radio-ready in the better sense of that term, it does start to blur together over a full-length hearing. [A bonus edition was released featuring a second disc featuring the following: an acoustic version of "Head on Collison," the bonus track "Forget Everything," plus songs from Further Seems Forever, Finch, Tsunami Bomb, H2O, the Exit, the Starting Line, and Don't Look Down.]

This cd is so unbelieveably great! At first it takes a couple times to listen to it, to really get into it, but once u do u realize how amazing of a punk/emo cd it is! Sonny is so amazing it shows how much they have matured on from their last album. Really a cd u can get into.

this is no doubt a great album! unlike some sophmore albums, this one has the same NFG feel as their first self titled debut. the songs are rocking and it is just so great! (Listen to ''Head on Collision'')

I didn't think that there could be a better CD than NFG's self-titled CD, but I have been proven wrong. This is really my favorite CD of all time, no joke. Every single song is good, especially ''It's Been a Summer'' and ''The Story So Far.'' If you like NFG, or even if you've never heard of them, you should buy this CD, you will love it!

All NFG CD's are great but this one is the best! My favorite song on the album is #2, My Friends Over You! Cyrus is the best in the band!

NFG is like my all time favorite band and I have all their Cds. This CD seems a little more pop and a lot catchier than their last CDs but it is still in my CD player at least 90% of the time. I love it, expecially Its Been a Summer, Head On Collision, Sonny, Singled Out, and The Story So Far. Their songs all are so up-beat and catchy they always put me in a good mood. I LOVE THEM!!!!!

New Found Glory's "Sticks and Stones" is awesome! It's a must for any rock cd collection. They are and alternative/midcore band with a little bit of a punk edge. They're great. I highly recommend them.

I was a bit disappointed in this CD, they were so great when Nothing Gold Can Stay came out and New Found Glory was ok. This CD sounds a bit like POP from when they used to be pop punk. Head On Collision is probably the only good song on this CD. This CD is great if you want to cry by your stereo and dance around with you pom-poms.

I just got their cd today and it rocks!I love all the songs on the cd.All of their songs have this beat that makes me tap my feet and i can't stop singing their songs.I love all of the songs but i like the song "Understatement" the best!NFG rocks!

New Found Glory, you guys are my heroes. Each song is perfectly made. I could not pick a favorite, but The Story So Far has the most meaning to me. Seriously, knowing that there are musicians who make such good songs just makes me happy. I cannot emphasize enough the caliber of excellence found in this CD. You would have to listen to the whole thing to fully understand. Just go, buy the CD, put it in while you¿re doing something that will take a while and listen to the entire CD. If you get distracted from whatever you decided to do because of the irresistible energy packed in each song, that¿s perfectly understandable. I pity those who have never had the opportunity to hear music of this ideal competence. Hopefully, all of you that do get the chance to listen to New Found Glory will appreciate it. NFG ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this cd and have owned it for a year. I am still not tired of it. Every song is great, though some do have to grow on you. I highly recommend this cd.

What can I say? There simply isn't anything good about this band. Every single song on the album is BAD! NFG is weak!

Sticks and Stones is an amazing album and is probably my favorite of all their releases. Honestly there isnt one track on here that should be skipped because their all great and different enough that the sound doesnt get all that repetitive. The highlights(in my opinion) include Understatement, My Friends Over You, Sonny, The Great Houdini, and The Story So Far. The sound on this CD is more polished than on some of their previous ones especially Nothing Gold Can Stay and From the Screen to Your Stereo and older fans might miss the more raw and natural sound. The band has also matured from their self-titled release to this one but it is for the better. Not every song is about girls(even though most of them still are) and they cover more serious subject matter. However that shouldn't discourage you from buying this one cause its still New Found Glory and it still rocks. To sum it up Sticks and Stones is twelve tracks of pop-punk goodness and is one you can't pass up.
