Editorial Reviews

Booknews
Commentary on contemporary aesthetics by 19 critics, academics, and poets, living (Harold Bloom, Anthony Haden-Guest, Barbara Maria Stafford, and others) and dead (Wallace Stevens, Walt Whitman). A companion volume to Beckley's , the anthology considers how the sublime reveals itself in the post-postmodern, new- technology world. The title (and subject) was inspired by a poem of Stevens's that asks: "How does one stand / To behold the sublime." With scattered b&w art photographs. Annotation c.
