Overview

Thought Stink might run out of fun, cool, weird, and wacky facts? Hardee-har-har! Make way for a second toe-jam-packed, can’t-put-down STINK-O-PEDIA!

What mammal could fit fifty people on its tongue? Did you know it’s impossible to snore in outer space? Or that the first lip balm was made of earwax? From B-for-brainy cats (take a quiz to prove your cat’s a genius) to T-for-treasure hunts (learn the secrets of geocaching) to Z-for-zombie jokes (bad puns to wake the dead), this super-funny compendium is bursting with things to do, things to try, and things that are just plain awesome to know. With a guide at the end crossreferencing Stink books with relevant entries, this is a must-have for Moody fans, reluctant readers, and kids who are crazy for trivia, superlatives, and other ephemera.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
Stink is back! Stink Moody is the young character created by renowned author Megan McDonald. Although his real name is James Edison Moody, most readers refer to him as Stink and many others know him as Judy Moody's little brother. In this, the second volume of his unique "Stink-o-pedia," Stink shares "more stinky stuff" with his readers. Mixed in with the gross and unusual facts, readers can learn some interesting and useful tidbits on topics such as disasters, fingerprinting, origami, and volcanoes. Topics are listed in alphabetical order, and each one begins with Stink's take on the subject. For example, the topic on "invisible ink" begins with Stink telling readers that in an effort to invent an Anti-Sister Repellent, he likes to mix different ingredients together and create potions. Six steps follow that explain how to use a lemon to create a secret message on paper. The article ends with a secret message that readers are encouraged to decipher. The hidden message, of course, is as silly as this book. Young readers, especially those reluctant to read chapter books, will be entertained by this unusual and amusing book. Reviewer: Denise Daley
