These are two Michiganders who came up with their idea of being able to make over 300 recipes from simple ingredients from one grocery list. The best thing about this cookbook is the magnetic shopping list that is included with your purchase. It has all your grocery items outlined with a checkbox for the items you will need from the store. I like the concept of having a stocked kitchen so you are always ready when inspiration strikes. Also, I like the index by ingredient and glossary found in the back. I have used this cookbook approximate 5 times and have found, the recipes do not yield consistent results or follow established culinary technique. Bob loves crab and anything made with crab, except for the Hot Crab Dip in this book. He said it was all WRONG. The spices and almond slivers over powered the delicate "crab-ness" that he enjoys. The Italian Marinade was improper for pairing with flank steak, which is generally cooked at a high temp for a short period of time. The marinade called for sugar, which burned the outside of the meat when I cooked it. That made me very unhappy and I should have seen that coming, but I trusted the recipe and not my instincts. Finally, the Cheesy Ranch Roll-Up Bread sounds better than the end product actually tasted. There are some good qualities of this cookbook, however, I have to say it is better to save the $19.95 and get some reliable recipes off the internet for free.
