The first rule of being Alpha of the Canine Pack is to protect their secrets from the humans at all cost. One look at the dying human at his doorstep and Holden Carter knows he will have to break it. The broken woman with no hope at survival is his mate. When he forces the change on her to save her life, he not only sets forth motions that could risk both their lives, but the lives of every shifter in the world.

Ariel Sands grew up in a post-Verona infection world and under the care of the very humans she thought had cured the disease. When they betray her in the worst ways imaginable, she finds herself not only mated to the Alpha of a the very species she’s been taught to fear, but the focal point of a traitor and path to destruction for everyone’s way of life. It will take more than trust and a mating bond for Ariel and Holden to not only survive their enemies, but the burn of their own temptations.

Soren Slater is a Beta wolf who understands that duty to his Pack comes before his own needs.  At a young age he takes a position as a liaison between his Pack and the other species of shifters. He never expected his enticing flirtations with Cora Wilder, a Tiger Princess, would encourage her cat to consider him a potential mate. He’s forced to walk away, choosing a partner among the wolves to try and strengthen his Pack.

Cora has no intention of forgiving or forgetting Soren’s rejection. Not even when the Packs are forced to live together and she discovers Soren’s former mate has died. But then, she’s kidnapped by the SAU and she has no choice but to work with Soren to escape. Together they must put the past behind them if they’re to survive the human’s evil plot.

I was disappointed...I love both of these authors...but I struggled through the first 3 chapters and just couldn't continue. I was hoping for something great, but this is not their best work.

Can't wait for the next one.

I was very disappointed in the book. I didn't like they way the authors handled the swifter/human relationship. And since this was a beginning of a new series it would have been nice to have a little background. I will not be continuing this series.

I was given this ARC for in exchange of an honest review. Before reading "Buried and Shadowed" by Carrie Ann Ryan and Alexandra Ivy, I went and bought the first two books in the series, "Stolen and Forgiven and Abandoned and Unseen". I was glad I read these two books before starting "Buried and Shadowed." Buried: The first story was everything I thought it would be. Buried is a ménage story (m/m/f) Gibson Barton, Mandy Calhoun, Oliver Dare. From the beginning to the end, I just couldn't put it down until I found out what happened at the end and to see these three have their HEA! I really enjoyed this story. This book had everything from smoking love scenes to suspense. The story flowed perfectly into the next book, "Shadowed" you wouldn't have a clue its two authors who joined together to produced two stories, that's how good it was. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would give 10 Stars! Shadowed: is about the Alpha of the Unseen Pack, Sinclair and Mira Reese, who works for the CDC. I really enjoyed this story because after reading the last two books, you only got glimpses of Sinclair and I was really hoping to find more about him. And I got my wish! Sinclair was working undercover with the SAU during the two books and this last book was damn perfect. Like I said above, you wouldn't have thought it was two authors writing this series. I also like how we got to see some of Rios's in this book as well and the ending was excellent. No cliffhangers. Just enough action, suspense and smokling-hot loves scenes to make this a delicious hot read! I would definitely recommend this book to family, friends and other readers. Hope for more from these two authors. I hope other readers one-click this book and try it for them selves. You won't be disappointed. Happy Reading!

Branded Packs Book One. Stolen: When Holden Carter, Alpha of the River Pack wolves, finds a dying human planted within his compound, his wolf knows she is his mate. Ariel Sands has been kept captive by the SAU and experimented on for what seems like forever. She wakes up to find out she has been turned into a shifter by an Alpha who believes she is his. Now, both must deal with the consequences of Holden's choice. Can the River Pack survive the fallout? Forgiven: After the two shifter packs had been forced together by the SAU, Soren Slater knows this is his chance to be reunited with the one woman he was forced to give up before the plague. Cora, however, has no intention of letting the wily wolf back into her heart. When she is kidnapped by the SAU Soren cannot stand aside and wait for the two Alphas to find a way to save her - he goes on his own. What will the fallout be when the SAU learn about his escape? If you're looking for a new series about a post-apocalyptic shifter world, this is it! The characters and the world will pull you in. Audio Review: Gregory Salinas narrates in the minimalist vein. He doesn't over-act the different voices, but keeps them more subdued. If you enjoy the less-dramatic approach to narration, this one will definitely work for you.

Stolen and Forgiven (Branded Packs #1) by Alexandra Ivy, Carrie Ann Ryan Stolen: Alpha Holden Carter knows he is about to break the law when he decides to save the life of the dying human woman he finds by turning her into a wolf-shifter. Trouble is the woman is his mate and letting her die is not an option. Holden is the Alpha of the Canine Pack. He is an excellent leader who hates the suffering of his people as well as all shifters that have been branded, collared, and imprisoned by the humans who fear them. The shifters are a good race that were wrongfully accused. Holden knows what it was like to live free. He tries his best to shield his pack. I really like Holden. He struggles with his feelings and tries to do what is best. Ariel Sands was an orphaned human that was tortured and left to die on shifter land in order to frame the pack. She is a worthy heroine who struggles with everything she was taught and needs to adapt to a new life as an imprisoned wolf-shifter. She is strong and an easy character to admire. Forgiven: Beta wolf shifter, Soren Slater, is devoted to his pack. Years ago, he met his potential mate, Tigger Princess, Cora Wilder. He put his pack above his own needs and left Cora behind. Now they are reunited and need to work together in order to survive the SAU. Soren is a noble character. He is brave and cares for his people. He is a loyal Beta and pack mate. He is determined and will not make the same mistake twice. Cora is loved by her father and pack. Soren’s rejection hurt her. She still has feeling for Soren even though she doesn’t want to forgive him. Despite that, they work together well, coming up with clever ways for their packs to gel and when faced with danger. I enjoyed Cora’s character and her chemistry with Soren. Stolen and Forgiven is an excellent read. I really enjoyed this collaboration between Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan. The plot was original and carefully thought out. The details and description are commendable. The story was very believable. My heart went out to all the shifters and what they endured. This is one series I will definitely want to continue to read. Complimentary copy provided by authors in exchange for an honest review.

I dearly love both Carrie Ann Ryan's and Alexandra Ivy's books butI was disappointed with this book. I thought the premise for the story -- shifters being shoved into restricted areas together and being forced to wear collars, etc., was much too reminiscent of Jennifer Ashley's shifter series. I expected something a bit more original from them.

**I received an e-copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.** -------------------------------- Alphas never have it easy, and the trials of the River and Golden Eye Pack Alphas is no different. In a post-apocalyptic world where shifters have had to reveal themselves in an attempt to save the humans from the Verona Virus, they instead find themselves the subject of animosity. Subjected to wearing metal collars and brands that indicate their shifter status they have been rounded up into compounds - unable to leave the gated & fenced areas without explicit permission from the government. Stolen - Holden, the River Pack Alpha, has given up hope of ever finding his true mate when she is suddenly thrust into his life. He has decisions to make, and their results could endanger the lives of every shifter in his care... or, make the Pack even stronger. Forgiven - Soren, the River Pack Beta, has put the needs of his pack before his own in the past and has the ghosts to prove it. When the Golden Eye Pack is forced to move into the same compound as the River Pack it comes back to slap him in the face. Can he and his true mate overcome those ghosts to ensure the continuation of their Packs, or will their choices bring the danger even closer? I have enjoyed MANY of Alexandra's series, and jumped at the chance to read the beginning of a new one - co-authored or not. Much like the Bayou series co-authored with Laura Wright my only complaint is they always seem to be over too soon!

I have been a fan of both Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan for many years, and their books are often at the top of my TBR list, and my re-read list. Both authors have a way of describing details and nuances about their characters and the setting without overwhelming the plot line. The plot of this new series is seemingly straightforward in Stolen. A virus almost wipes out humanity, but shifters remain immune to the mutations. They step forward and reveal themselves and their physiology leads to a cure. Instead of this being a happy ending, humans turn on the shifters and they “cage the animals” so humans can be safe. Placing the blame for the virus on shifters helps to boost public opinion against them. In reality, human scientists are searching for a way to create their own shifters for selfish reasons. The series is then about the shifters who are living within the confines of the compounds they’ve been forced to live in and the struggles they face. In Forgiven, the plot becomes a little more intricate as the reader learns that multiple players in multiple levels of security, government, and research are involved in attempting to “make” shifters. The characters within the series are well-developed and diverse. All types of personalities make an appearance, from Alpha to Beta, submissives to betrayers. The “pack” is a family whose dynamics are just as intricate an

Our review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle: --Actual rating 4.5 Skulls Wolves, tigers, and bears. Oh my! Stolen and Forgiven was two amazing books, grouped together into a very fun new series by two superstar authors. Shifter fans will be overjoyed! In Stolen, we meet Holden (Alpha of the River Pack) and his unexpected mate, Ariel as they try to make sense of the new world they've been thrust into. One 25 years into the future, following the outbreak of a virus that caused the shifters to come out and thus become caged by humans. Conflict, intrigue, and strong characters abound in Carrie Ann's Branded Pack debut. In Forgiven, we are further introduced to Soren (the Beta of the River Pack) as he's forced to come face-to-face with his old flame, Cora, the princess of the Golden Pack once again. And as if their history and tension wasn't enough, they have to deal with the fact that the Canine and Feline compounds have been thrown together, more than likely in hopes that they'll just kill each other off and constantly look over their shoulders for the danger posed by the humans. Danger, sacrifice, compromise and growth are beautifully rendered in Alexandra's Branded Pack contribution. As mentioned, if you're a shifter fan, I think you will adore this compilation. I personally cannot wait for Abandoned and Unseen.
