Wonderfully written and illustrated, with engaging characters, Stone Pizza is a lot of fun. It serves up a lesson on sharing without any heavy-handed moralism. Sure to become a favorite with your family!

The bizarre title alone sets the mood for this strange telling of Marcia Brown's superior 'Stone Soup'. All of the human characters have been turned into animals for no real reason, and the story is set in Arizona(?). It begs the question -- why Stone Pizza? Why not Stone Sandwich or Stone Hamburger? The only reason why the humans are changed to animals and the soup is changed to pizza is to not totally rip off the Stone Soup story. Also, the art is pretty awful.
