About the Author

L.T. Meade, also known as Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith, was a prolific writer of the 1800s and early 1900s. She wrote many books for children and young people, as well as many mysteries. She published over 300 manuscripts in her lifetime.

Dr. Clifford Halifax, whose real name was Dr. Edgar Beaumont, was the real-life doctor of the Diary of the Doctor series. It is his own experiences that Meade skillfully framed into delightful and very readable short stories which became popular enough for the magazine to request a second series.
