    Must read!

I have read many Warhammer 40,000 books but this is my favorite. This book lead me to read McNeil's Ultramarine books, which i didn't like as much. The only books that are also good are Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghost novels.

    I Also Recommend:

    Great intro to Warhammer 40,000

The was the first book with in the Warhammer series. It was suggested by a friend and i would suggest to anyone interested in reading sci-fi conflicts. It gives enough information about everything in the Warhammer 40,000 series to be a good first book. I didn't like reading until my friend made me read the first chapter of this book. Its a gateway drug of reading. Read it last fall and have read 18 books and its only been 8 or so months. That's more than i can say i read in my entire life previous and i'm 23.

    ......

McNeill is a talented writer yes, but Storm of Iron is written just like his Ultramarine books. The only difference is he is taking the perspective of the iron warriors. come on Graham, write something different. I hated how he had to put a captain in the iron warriors who has "loyalist" blood in him. there is no way any chaos legion would accept anyone of the like for any reason. <BR/>The other reviewer says that Graham is the best writer for the Black Library, that made me laugh. Dan abbnett is clearly the best by far. Dan has proven he can write on various levels, where as Graham just writes the samething only with different names.

    An amazing page turner

Graham McNeill has done it again. He has established himself as the best scifi writer that Games Workshop/Black Library has. His attention to detail combined with a fast pace and interesting characters makes this a must read for all 40K fans. Make no mistake, McNeill doesn't pull any punches with this visceral tale of Chaos invading an Imperial fortress, and the point of view the story is told from is very refreshing. Highly recommended.
