Gr 5-8-Born in the 1890s, the Stinson sisters became fascinated with the new pursuit of flying. Their mother and brother shared their enthusiasm and they all developed several family businesses that trained more than 100 military pilots for World War I, barnstormed all over the United States, and delivered some of the first air-mail letters. They broke records, defeated rival pilots, and entertained millions of Americans and Canadians, but they never were permitted to achieve their dream, which was to fly bombers during the war. Most of the dialogue is not documented, and the black-and-white photographs are dark and grainy. An interesting segment of American aviation history, for a limited audience.-Elizabeth Stumpf, Clearfield Middle School, PA Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
