Overview

A Fire Inside may have released their first chart-topping major label album Sing the Sorrow in 2003, but the Bay Area band's fire began its slow burn over a decade ago. Years of near constant touring have garnered the band a reputation for passionately powerful live shows, and through pure word of mouth they have built an intensely devoted worldwide fan base. Lead singer Davey Havok, guitarist Jade Puget, drummer Adam Carson, and bass player Hunter have crafted a sound so distinctive it defies the punk/goth/hardcore labels thrown its way. To further keep us guessing, AFI's music is continually evolving, surprising even its most loyal followers. Here is the full story behind AFI's hard-won success from humble high school beginnings to unimagined heights six albums later as the fire burns brighter than ever.

AFI is my favorite band, but I was a bit disappointed with whomever wrote this book. AFI has even said some of the information and pictures in there are private things of their families that they didn't want out, as well as incorrect information. The book could've been better had they gone to AFI themselves, and by respecting the bands wishes to keep things private. The book was good, the pictures great, just the story was off at times.

I think the story behind AFI was well written, it tells the story, on how they began, and worked there way up from trying to hand out flyers for people to come, and having sold out conerts. It has great detail, and awesome pictures, of when they were younger from when they got older.

Afi is my favorite band, and this book gives the whole background story of the band. It has a lot of pictures, which are neat to look at. It's short, and it only took me like 30 minutes to read

This is the coolest book. Any AFI fan should read it. It gives so much great info about everything the band has done for all these years and has really good pictures. Its about time AFI was recognized with a book about them!!! I was v. impressed and have turned friends on to the band even more now. Also the writing is good unlike mine ha ha. Great book. Loved it.
