    What a refreshing book!

This book is a biography of the life of Edgar Cayce. Many reviews I have read on other Edgar Cayce books, suggest reading this book prior to reading any other books about or by him. After reading the book, I agree with the other reviews. It is important to understand the man behind the readings before interpreting or judging them. You'll find yourself looking at the readings from a completely new perspective after reading the book. I only knew Edgar Cayce as a prophit and psychic healer from short clips on TV shows, but now also know him as an example of how life can be lived in the service of others. The most fascinating part is that Edgar Cayce, himself, wasn't convinced of the accuracy of his own readings. He didn't provide readings on whims, but only to those that asked for and needed his help. This book doesn't contain prophisies, but does contain information from some of the Cayce readings on the purpose of life on Earth, insights into the beginnings of Christianity, and the teachings of Jesus. It is the first book on Edgar Cayce or his prophicies, that I have read, and I definitely intend to read more, though for different reasons than I had initially intended. The book was surprisingly, spiritually, inspiring. It provides new views on God and Creation, that some may contend, but that fit with not only Cristianity, but the other major world religions. The book does contain many examples of readings Edgar Cayce gave to help people overcome medical conditions and the results achieved after people followed the instructions given in the readings.

    Enlightenment for Seekers

There is a River is one of the most thought provoking books I have ever read, and while obtaining bachelors masters and doctoral degrees, I've read a lot. In a world focused on materialism, a book about the evolution of the soul is uplifting.
