Overview

Stranded together, their passions will run wild.

Kara has a deep dislike for her boss, Max. She also wants him so badly it’s making her nuts. He’s a workaholic, a robot man. And he’s never shown the least bit of interest in her or anything else that wasn’t recorded in the corporate minutes. But when their plane crashes on the way to a meeting, leaving them stranded on a deserted island…just the two of them, all alone with all that ocean around them…Kara decides it’s time to start living. And by living, she means using Max for all the hot sex she’s been denied.

Max wants Kara—has wanted her for a long time. Unable to come out and cross the line between professional and personal, he makes her accompany him on business trips just to have her around. When they crash land and Kara shows him how much she wants him, he decides to quit being so professional and take the woman of his dreams. After all, what happens in the middle of nowhere, stays in the middle of nowhere. Until they’re rescued.
Back in the real world, things aren’t as easy. Kara is afraid to start a relationship with a man who completely ignored her until she took off her clothes, and Max is afraid she’ll never be able to trust him.

But when someone makes it clear that Kara’s in danger, Max has more to protect than Kara’s feelings. And now that he has her, he’s not about to let her go.

I really enjoyed this story!  It’s funny, sassy, and compelling, and I couldn’t get enough.  The buildup to the final confrontation was good, the injuries and recovery time for Kara were realistic, and overall things weren’t horribly predictable, which is always nice!  The epilogue was adorable and worth every second even if the rest of the book wasn’t awesome too.

I do have two things to say that aren’t glowing though, but I wouldn’t call them complaints either.  I don’t know how plausible it is that they jumped right into the sack after the plane crashes, but I’ve never been in that situation and it was pretty hot anyway, so I’ll shut up on that one!  The other is the catalyst for all the attacks on Kara.  My leading theory was never brought up as a possibility and I couldn’t believe it!  I won’t say what it was, just in case it doesn’t cross anyone else’s mind either, but that was pretty surprising to me when they went in every direction but what I felt was a very obvious one.

Overall, Stranded Temptation is a very sexy, exciting, and well written book that any contemporary romance fan should love.  I will definitely be on board for reading more from this author!

Review originally posted at Romancing the Book

Stranded Temptation was a hot read with two steamy main characters. I picked this book up because it seemed different. I got the feeling from reading the blurb that after they return home it becomes more than just a story of I slept with the boss and it definitely was. There were quite a few paths the story may have taken and that made interesting enough that it didn’t just end with them in bed together.

Kara was immediately likeable as a woman who is intelligent, sexy, tough, and tenacious so she needs a mate who also brings quite a few awesome talents to the table. I enjoyed Kara because she was not a weak lady in need of a hero or a wonder woman type trying to show her man she doesn’t need him at all. She could also hold her own in work and in bed. She was looking for a partner, an equal, and a sexy man to steam up her nights.

In the beginning I wasn’t too sure I was going to like Max. He seemed like that typical guy that just uses people and doesn’t care about them at all. But as the story progresses he does show some depth of character. He was protective, supportive, sweet, romantic and passionate. Max’s life was not an easy walk in the park either once they return. He was trying to keep everything he holds dear safe and also not lose what he had found on the island. He proved he was more than just a robot he was a man with a lot more to offer than Kara ever imagined.

I have quite a bit to say about this book. There are good things and then the not so good. I will start with the good first. There are the well rounded characters and the fact that there is a large amount of story. There are some pretty steamy, sexy parts; a really cute, romantic and thoughtful scene and a really wonderful ending. Although this has some hot scenes in it, I have to say that Max and Kara’s first time together is extremely brusque and even knowing the events leading up to it, I felt it lacked finesse. Also, the ending of the who-done-it part felt very disjointed to me. That portion of the story seemed like it was not completely fleshed out. Which I find very disappointing because that was what made this book different from all of the numerous other books about having the hots for the boss books out there. Overall this was an enjoyable read but I am disappointed that I cannot give it a higher rating.

This is erotic romance at it¿s finest! I loved the story began

This is erotic romance at it’s finest!

I loved the story began by establishing that Max and Kara were already well acquainted with each other. They may be boss and employee, but the office atmosphere seems very relaxed and they’re friends first, sort off. Max is an insufferable workaholic and relies heavily on Kara. She on the other hand has had no social life and even less sex since she’s usually at Max’s beck and call. They have great chemistry that walks a fine line between lust and murder, on her part. Max is just besotted by her but won’t act on his attraction for reasons that are honorable, however he has little success convincing his other head that it’d be best to keep his hands off her. Kara is seriously considering quitting her job in favor of finding time to date again, but first there’s a business trip to attend to. When the plane makes an unexpected crash landing on a deserted island, the sun isn’t the only thing to scorch the sand. They not only discover just how perfect they are for one another, but one the haze of lust and passion lifts and they return to the real world, will what they shared be enough to lead to something more? And what if the crash wasn’t an accident? Someone is out to get Kara, and Max is determined to keep her safe and keep her his.

The author can write erotic scenes like no one else I know. It’s carnal, raw, toe-curling good and so very graphic. Max and Kara do a position on the beach that is so deliciously wicked, and I marvel at any couple who can pull it off.

But this isn’t just all sex and no content. I love her plots with characters who have successful careers who are ready to settle down. While some authors tend to exploit a heroine’s insecurities to drag out the “chase”, Ms Angel doesn’t so that. When Kara finds herself falling for Max, she’s a little hesitant, but she listens to her heart. The heart wants what the heart wants.Although we don’t get a more in-depth back story on them, they still come across as relatable and instantly likeable. I didn’t need to know about their childhoods and family life for them to pass muster.

The suspense portion of the story may have been a bit predictable, but it made Max and Kara grow closer and acknowledge their feelings a lot faster. The tone of the story was mostly flirty, playful and funny.

Favorite non-sexual moments of the story:

#1 His birthday surprise for her. That made my heart skip a beat.

#2 The moment they return to their island, she shares some news with him and he drops her.

Makes crashing on a plane sound like a good idea!

Mmmmmm. Sizzle. Pop. Burn. Ooooh. Max and Kara light up the pages and incinerate them. These two make me want to get on a plane and make a crash landing. They make me want to rush headlong into danger and come out with the everlasting gobstopper of romances!

Ok, that was weird. But seriously, these two… wowza! I’ve read one other book by April Angel, Mr. Buff, and so I was pretty excited about Stranded Temptation. And now I am completely convinced that I am joining the fan-girl club of this author. She can write a scene to burn your pants off!

When two people who fantasize about each other regularly go on a business trip together to a very exotic location, what do you expect to happen? Well, that doesn’t happen in this book!! At least not in the way you think, and I loved that. Right away there is a huge adrenalin rush, then hotness and sexiness abound. But then there are feelings and all of that greatness that comes with it!

This book had a lot of action and danger, it was a great mix.

“Good luck trying to get out of his sexy claws. When Max Richards sinks them into someone, there’s no way of getting out.”

Max is that type of man I love. When he gets what he wants, he holds on tight. He doesn’t let her fears and insecurities about what has happened get in the way. And that was terrific.

I think if you want a quick read that will get you revved up in multiple ways, this would be an awesome choice for you. Heck, I might read it again real soon!

At first I thought this books was going to be the same classic, lusting after boss, work affair... Well no way. Nobody takes a classic story and makes it quite so hot!

Stranded on a beach with two survivalists and lots of lust. What could happen...

    Loved this book!

Kara has this love, hate thing going on for her boss Max. While

Kara has this love, hate thing going on for her boss Max. While Max may have sex appeal and be easy on the eyes, Kara thinks he is an insufferable workaholic and refers to him to as "Robot Man." After working five years as an accountant in Max's company, Kara has had enough, she has no social life let alone any sex life since she's been at his beck and call, and is ready to quit. And to make matters worse, Kara has to cancel her thirtieth birthday cruise vacation with best friend Meghan to accompany Max on a business trip to South America.

Max has been attracted to Kara since the first day she walked into his office. But he won't cross the line between professional and personal, even though he desires her. So to satisfy some of his need for her, he makes sure she is at his beck and call, accompanying him on every business trip.

When their plane has trouble and makes an unexpected crash landing on a deserted island, they can't fight the attraction for each other any longer, their chemistry is akin to the scorching tropical sun. But when they are rescued and return to the real world, will the time that they shared on the island lead to something more, or will it go back to business as usual at the office?

Stranded Temptation is one hell of a steamy island romp in the sand kind of read! Author April Angel weaves a sexy tale of romance and desire that is simply scorching, while providing an underlying plot of intrigue and suspense that keeps the reader turning the page.

Seriously, who doesn't like the fantasy of two passionate people trapped on a deserted island filled with pent up attraction and sizzling chemistry? Add in the mixture of intrigue and suspense of life or death trouble, and you have a captivating erotic romantic suspense story that will keep your heart beating fast and furious!

I loved following Kara and Max's journey as their love story unfolded. Kara is a sassy little spit fire, strong-willed and self-assured, she knows what she wants and goes after it ... and she wants Max! Max, oh Max ... you're my kind of man ... sweet, sexy, confident, sincere and businesslike ... he is simply swoon worthy.

Stranded Temptation is one hot little entertaining novella that has it all: engaging characters; witty dialogue and steamy interactions; a richly descriptive tropical deserted island setting; and a captivating storyline that mixes sex with suspense, can you ask for anything more? Stranded Temptation is simply erotic romance at its finest!

Steamy Read With a Fantasy Feel and a Bit of Suspense

Stranded Temptation is the kind of story you read as escapism. It's an entertaining story with a storyline you could only dream about. The characters are likable but are put into some over the top situations whose sole purpose is to bring them even closer together as the mystery itself comes out of nowhere with a culprit that also comes out of nowhere.

Max and Kara are both strong-willed which leads to some fiery confrontations. Kara wants to stand on her own but Max's Alpha nature desperately wants to keep her close by and safe and sound. The story is fast-paced will plenty of action in and out of the bedroom to keep your pulse pounding. The sexual interludes are frequent and satisfying and often are of the life reaffirming variety. It was in fact this kind of moment that led to them doing away with their vows not to mix business with pleasure in the first place. The verbal foreplay between the main characters was fun and flirty and was enhanced by the secondary characters who were equally engaging and supportive to the happiness of Kara and Max.

Those looking for a steamy read full of escapism with find that, and more, when reading Stranded Temptation. April Angel knows reader's naughty little dreams and is happy to make them a reality!
