    Fresh perspectives on strange mysteries

A refreshing look on some of the cryptozoological and paranormal mysteries over the years as well as first hand encounters. It is 126 pages with 26 b&w photos along with various illustrations and broken down into 14 chapters. The author presents the facts as he has found them and allows you to draw your own conclusions. Of special interest to anyone with an interest in cryptozoology is the third chapter which does an in depth study of the 'Lawndale Big Bird' incident. All in all a very entertaining and informative book which could benefit from better editing but still a recommended read for all those with a interest in this area. I feel it is money well spent to have this sitting on your shelf.

Grab it before it's out of print ! !

An adventure into the unknown! True stories, real witnesses and best of all, a unique balance of 'strangeness'. This book tells of ghosts, ufo's to bigfoot encounters. 'Strange Highways' has been a hit at campfire outings and passed around our family unit with pleasure. Never have I read a Cryptozoological / Paranormal book with such down-to-earth reasoning!

Strange Highways: A Guidebook to American Mysteries and the Unexplained

This book is much more than other Cryptozoology Coleman books, it is about truth and personal perspectives, it is about honest research and verifiable witnesses. I have been interested in the Unknown for about 20 years now and never have I read such a collection of new, fresh, exciting tales from beyond. Mixing equal amounts of logic, skepticism, belief and doubt to arrive at a well written, in-depth and personally examined journey into the unexplained. From the occult to the Jersey Devil, Jerry Coleman does not ask you to believe in these things; only to explore the possibility of their exist. Did I mention I am his eldest daughter, Jennifer? Yes, I am very proud of the man, his compassion, his ambition and his total devolution to the truth, no matter who¿s toes he steps on. This is a book that almost did not go to press, why, because certain parties don¿t like hearing the truth! Fortean Fans, if one book is on your list for purchase, make it this one, you will not regret it! Jennifer

Strange Highways: A Guidebook to American Mysteries and the Unexplained

This book explains mysteries in a unique way seldom seen. From Ghosts to Bigfoot and Ufo's to the Jersey Devil, never have I read such down to earth, logical explanations. Coleman does not say this is how it is, no, he asked and studies how it may be and requests his readers to arrive at their own conclusions. Most refreshing, indeed!

Easy & Very Interesting Read !!

Cryptozoology & the Paranormal at it's best! Exclusive story's, fresh insight and obvious real field investigations backed-up with eyewitness testimony. I could open the book at any page and become mentally involved, interested and seeking more. This was and is important to me as I read so much, 'on the go'. But when it was all said and done, I quietly sat by my fireplace and enjoyed 'Strange Highways' cover to cover, 'again'!

    Interviews and Objectivity

An excellent addition to any cryptozoology library. Or to any library, actually. Objective and fair-minded, and free from the wide-eyed and innocent 'I think all cryptids are real' attitude that's so common in many books of this type, this is a fast and fun read, chock full of interesting interviews with interesting people, about interesting and unusual things. Making no pretense to have all the answers, Mr. Coleman takes an impartial look at what he's seen and puts it all down on paper in a clear and concise way. Strange Highways, indeed! A great title for a great book, and one for which this field has been waiting for a long time. A good bang for your buck, this one.

    Unexplained Mysteries of America!

Coleman's personal interviews, witness accounts and actual police reports made the unexplained tales of ghosts to Bigfoot and UFO's to Phantom Panthers come alive. 14 chapters of unique tales of Phenomena and Cryptozoological evidence will enlighten any who reads it, most of which is in print for the first time. This is a must have, 30 years of research comes together in 'Strange Highways' adding some new twists on old tales such as the Jersey Devil and Mothman. Best Crypto/Paranormal book to come along in years!
