Overview

In the second novel in her bestselling Edilean trilogy, Jude Deveraux returns to the idyllic Virginia town where three best girlfriends joyfully reunite as they each seek out their heartfelt dreams and desires.

Kim Aldredge is delighted that her dear college “sister” Jecca has found lasting love with Kim’s cousin Tristan. But despite her flourishing jewelry-making career, Kim’s own happiness seems as distant as the childhood summer when she played the hours away with young Travis Merritt, who came to Edilean with his mother under mysterious circumstances. At the end of that innocent season, he promised Kim he would return one day . . . and then vanished without even a goodbye. Years later, a worn photo is Kim’s only proof of the perfect joy they shared. But when she least expects it, Travis, now a savvy Manhattan attorney, will crash into her life once more. Will Kim see the boy she knew under the man he’s become?

Jude Deveraux

Jude Deveraux is the author of more than forty New York Times bestsellers, including Moonlight in the Morning, The Scent of Jasmine, Scarlet Nights, Days of Gold, Lavender Morning, Return to Summerhouse, and Secrets. To date, there are more than sixty million copies of her books in print worldwide. To learn more, visit JudeDeveraux.com.

Biography

Jude Deveraux was born in Fairdale, Kentucky, the eldest of a family of three girls and one boy. After earning a degree in art from Murray State University and studying teaching at the University of New Mexico, she taught fifth grade in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She left when her first book, The Land of Enchantment, was accepted for publication by Avon books.

Jude's first books were historical, chiefly featuring the Montgomery and Taggert families. Stories of the lives and loves of these families spanned over several centuries in the US and England. They are filled with details of the history and culture of the time periods and settings of her novels. Her more recent series of books focuses on the McTern family and its descendants. The novels are set in the fictional town of Edilean, Virginia, and go from when the family arrived in America to contemporary time.

Jude's exhaustive research on every aspect of her books has made for a rich and detailed background for each of her novels. Her stories are adventurous, funny, and at times heartwarming. Jude has had over thirty books on the New York Times Bestsellers List, over 60 million copies in print, and has been translated into 18 languages.

Jude has lived in England and Egypt as well as in several American states, and she has traveled around the world. She likes to read nonfiction and murder mysteries, work in her garden, and in boxing class, she enjoys showing much younger males that she can throw a mean right cross.

Good To Know

Deveraux began her career as a fifth-grade teacher.

Honestly I felt like there was something missing in the story, it almost
seemed rushed and I felt that was a little disappointing because with
Ms. Deveraux's other Edilean books everything was in sync but Kim and
Travis's story just seemed to be missing something, other than that I
    thought the book was good.

    Another fun romance!

Another fun quick read set in the town of Edilean Virginia. Have followed the series for some time. Whenever I see another of Jude Deveraux's books set in Edilean I read it. The plot is always interesting with a twist or two. The characters are are fun to follow. A great summer read.

    Moonlight in the morning

I just finished the first of this trilogy and read the teaser for the 2nd and 3rd. I'm purchasing the hard copies as soon as I can get to Barnes and noble.
I happened upon Jude Deveraux in a library in Olean, N.Y. when I went in '01 after my oldest daughter was born. The very first book I picked up was Remembrance. Fell in love with her writing and have been trying to catch up since.
I'd like to know what town was Edilean based on?

    A wonderful story!

Jude has a way of getting the reader into the story almost immediately. A talent not all authors of fiction romance have. Loved the story. Not too much setting up of characters which makes it flow so well. Sometimes fiction romance is dull in places or skips around. Not so with this book. It flows and keeps one interested to the end. A very good read. And, I am really selective!
