Meet the Author

I began writing as a child and cut my teeth on Edgar Allan Poe, Louisa May Alcott, and Alexandre Dumas. Even then I was a warped romantic and found a kinky passion in Poe's writing. I moved on to Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught, and Bertrice Small. As my life experience grew so did my reading tastes and I found I loved the authors who pushed the romantic envelope; Mary Balogh's A Precious Jewel comes to mind.

I love the outdoors and have hiked the Grand Canyon three times. Gardening continues to be my muse and listening to my pond's waterfall sets the mood for day dreaming which easily turns to writing.

At age twelve a boy across campus was pointed out to me and I instantly fell in love. Four years later he finally took notice and became the love of my life. I tend to write "love at first sight" because I live it. My teenage heartthrob and I live in the Southwest United States with our Rottweiler and Chihuahua. They have us well trained and we obey all commands.

I love books, chick flicks, coffee, chocolate, and wine. The order depends on my mood.

    Novella

Holly Roberts and Michelle Kowalski should write a seperate book with the male POVs from the completion series. I would totally buy that book.

I love sports romances.  I don't really know why.  I think it has something to do with the fact the men are in the best condition they're ever be in.  Of course it's also the attitude and confidence that can sometimes border on arrogance, that's attractive as well.

I read Strike in what felt like very little time.  Of course when the book starts off by grabbing you by the throat and not letting you go until it's finished, that is what's going to happen.  If you don't believe me, then you need to get the free sample from Amazon and just read the first chapter. That's all it's going to take to hook you, I guarantee it.

Holly writes great characters.  I really liked Reed.  I mean here he is getting his house broken into, his property stolen, and assaulted, yet he didn't behave as I thought he would.  I liked Jaycee because even though she made some poor choices, her heart was always in the right place.  I loved the dynamic between the Shumway siblings; it warmed my heart to see the love between them.

The chemistry between Reed and Jaycee was scorching and I'm sure you will enjoy seeing the two butt heads as well as seeing that chemistry ignite, as much as I did.  You may have noticed that this is book two in the Completion series, but it's completely unrelated to book one, Play. The only thing the two books have in common are the fact that both heroes play sports. I can't wait to see what's in store for us in the next book in this series.

Awesome book. Fun, sexy, HOT! I loved the characters and can't wait for the next book. This doesn't have a cliffhanger ending either which I was thankful for. Miss Roberts can't write fast enough.

I love watching college baseball, in fact I'm watching it as I type this review, so I was really excited to read this story with a steamy baseball player character. I was not disappointed. This was a fun, easy read with a lot of pretty steamy scenes.

I really loved Jaycee as a MC. She loves her family with everything she has. She takes care of them and puts their needs ahead of her own. She is smarter and more mature than many characters I have read lately. She is a hard worker who has learned to take life as it comes and just deal with it. I also loved Jon for all of the same reasons. It was so nice to read about characters who weren't spoiled and living perfect lives, who have everything handed to them and are still not happy.

Reed Tyler...well, a sexy name for a sexy man. I love when a man knows what he wants and makes sure he gets it. Now, I don't mean taking what isn't offered, so don't get me wrong. But I loved that Reed was confident and sure of himself and where he really stood with Jaycee. And, underneath all of the dominance, he was such a sweet, loving guy.

I loved that this story wasn't full of unnecessary drama and conflict, and it really could have been. Ms. Roberts could have let Jaycee believe the lie that Reed's mom told her about the fiance. Jaycee could have accepted the mom's check. She could have seen Reed with another girl at the ballpark. Thankfully, we were spared. There was enough good story (and a whole bunch of sex) so that the author didn't have to create drama-filler story lines.

This story does contain a lot of sex. I mean, a lot. But it has a really good story outside of that as well. They characters fall in love really quickly. The relationship moves very fast, and there are some decisions made that I didn't agree with Obviously, Jaycee breaking into Reed's house in the first place, but also letting him into her life and moving to his garage apartment so quickly since she has custody of her 6 yr old sister. You just can't be too careful about who you let in your life when you have children. I just felt the rushed relationship was dangerous because of that. But it IS fiction, so it was OK. .

There were very few spelling/grammar errors. The story was well written, with a very nice, well paced flow. The characters were well written and developed. All of the baseball references were correct (thank you, Holly!). Overall, this is an enjoyable weekend read.

I’m not generally a romance reader and in all the decades I’ve been an adult, I’ve not read erotica. I decided it was high time I checked out what all the fuss was about, and Ms. Roberts far exceeded my expectations!!

I was really taken by her characters and the plot. I loved Jaycee’s strength and commitment to her brother and sister. Almost every decision she makes is based on their best interest. Oh, and what a firecracker she is! Stubborn and persistent! Reed is a perfect match for her. He has his own strength and knows just how to use it to help bring down Jaycee’s walls, not by bullying her, but by nudging her with what he knows will help her. He does it with persistent love, not to mention he has just the right amount of kinky going on!

Ms. Roberts is a talented writer and I look forward to reading more from her.

Holly S Roberts has done it again with Strike. Everything Ive read from Holly has been awesome. Strike is the second book in her sports series but can be read as a read alone book it has nothing to do with the first book PLAY which was awesome and hot.....So with that said Reed is a 25 yr old baseball player who has the looks and the money to back it up. Jaycee is 19 and poor, works at a burger shack and is raising her 6 yr old baby sister and 15 yr old brother since her mother died. Jaycee is desperate for some fast cash so she decides to break into reeds home what she didn't expect was to run right into his hard naked body and what takes place after that is a love story that will have you laughing and crying. The chemistry between the two was spot on. This story will pull at your heart strings one moment and have you fanning your face the next moment. The sex was hot the feeling were real and the ending was awesome. I never thought I would read a book that had something to do with sports but its so much more love trust lust humor.I love these 2 books. I promise you want be disappointed in them. Read play first and I promise you will be hooked and will want to start on strike right behind it.
