As Vice

Overview

Dr. Lila Emerson is finally free of the shadow of her politically connected family, with her new job in a small town Emergency Room. But her new peace is shattered when she encounters the dangerous, but compelling Striker. He's everything she should stay away from, but all she craves. And since he keeps turning up in her ER, he's hard to avoid.

As Vice President of No Prisoners outlaw motorcycle club, Striker is no stranger to violence. But when it touches the pretty doctor he wants in his bed, he'll do anything to keep her safe. When Striker and Lila are thrust together, sparks fly and passions ignite. Before long they find themselves entangled in a relationship neither saw coming.

The MC can and will eliminate any threat against Lila, but what if they--and the man she's falling for--are the reason she's in danger?

This book is recommended for 18+ due to graphic sexual content and explicit language.

Meet the Author

Lilly Atlas is a contemporary romance author. She’s a proud Navy wife and mother of two spunky girls. Every time Lilly downloads a new eBook she expects her Kindle App to tell her it’s exhausted and overworked, and to please give it some rest. Thankfully that hasn’t happened yet so she can often be found absorbed in a good book.

Lila and Striker meet multiple times when she has to take care of various MC members who are injured and require a visit to the hospital. They dance around one another and then, when an unexpected late night call forces Lila to make a decision on whether she will help the MC, she goes to the dark side. Lila was hard for me to like in that, she was supposedly this well-respected physician who only wanted to do good, but she had no problem getting her hands dirty and keeping her mouth shut. Her family (especially her father) are well connected and supposedly have eyes on her, yet she gets in situations in this book that could cause both physical and emotional harm. When Striker does decide to go for it, Lila welcomes him with open arms and that just didn't fit for me. She struggled to get away from her family, wants to implement a concussion protocol and new equipment for the high school, yet is willing to throw that all away? Not realistic to me. Her reaching out to the Club for security make somewhat sense, but then she agrees to put her career on the line making a deal with the devil? Would have been helpful to have known Striker's real name, both of their ages, etc. There were times that this book lacked consistency (she was wearing leather pants on her way to the party - then suddenly she is in jeans, there were six Grimm members and then when they were leaving there were seven?) Instances where wrong words were used and there were missing words, in one instance an incomplete sentence. Could really use an editor to make it better.
