Overview

Tough. Taciturn. And a fool for letting her go…

A Wild Ride story.

Wyoming rancher Quinn McKay thought he’d only have to bide time until his
levelheaded wife came to her senses and called a halt to this “trial
separation”. He never believed the marital rough patch would drag on for a coon’s age.

Libby McKay knew when she married the gruff, laid-back cowboy that he wasn’t prone to blathering about his feelings. But three months have passed and her stubborn-as-a-mule husband is still living by himself in the horse trailer. It seems he’d rather hold onto his pride than hold onto her.

Quinn realizes Libby is determined to move on if he doesn’t loosen his tongue and he’ll lose the only woman he’s ever loved. In a last-ditch effort to keep her in his life, he offers her one weekend of uninterrupted sexual decadence.

Reigniting the passion is easy. The hard part comes after the sheets have cooled and they find out if what remains is strong enough to survive past mistakes.

    Wow it was fantastic

This book could of been used as a self help for marriages in trouble. The way each of the couples minds worked. Its exactly how marriages get in trouble by not communicating. Dont get me wrong it is her usual great raunchy sex, but it all melted right in with the story. One of my favorites.

A romantic read - very enjoyable

We all know mariage is difficult. Communication is very important to the health of a good marriage and Libby and Quinn aren't communicating. It's a great story about how two people try again to make it work.

I love how Lorelei gave Quinn and Libby a book/story. You will read about them throughout the series in other books, but when I seen this I had to get it. This book is short, but good. I'm so happy they came to their senses and didn't throw what they had since high school just because they never talked to one another. They finally do and start working on there problems and in the end they end up with what they have wanted and worked for a long time.

    Love this series!!

Lorelei James has a real steaming winner with this series; one is better than the next. Although this one was the first, it is kind of out of sequence in the series, but it was a great start. I've read them all and I'm now reading #12 - WOW!!! I will probably re-read it, it is so hot!! Lorelei please continue writing about the McKays - not boring at all; its a large family plenty for you to continue with. Love them ALL!!!

This series is absolutely fantastic. I've never disappointed with ANYTHING she has written! There are 16 books in all in the Rough Rider Series starting with the Long Hard Ride and ending with Cowboy Take Me Away. If you've never read anything by Lorelei James you really should. You have no idea what you're missing.

One of my very favorite Rough Riders book!  I loved the heart wrenching reality of marriage and the constant work it takes.  I agree with another reviewer who thought the book would be self help for troubled marriages - definitely helps to remind you to remember your priorities.  Also helpful that it is hot, hot, hot which never hurts a marriage!

    Another Success

Lorelei James doesn't mind putting a story together that deals with tough issues! Libby and Quinn are wonderful characters in the middle of a marraige crisis. This story is wonderfully told and could easily be prescribed for any couple going through a tough time. Not many authors could pull off this kind of story that draws you in to a fictional world at the same time as providing a cautionary tale for what it takes to make a relationship work. Not to mention lots of hot McKay magic! A must read in the Rough Riders series.

    Loved this book.

Quinn McKay is flabbergasted when his wife of nine years is serious about a three-month trial separation. He knows they have a few problems, but nothing they can’t work out. Libby doesn’t see it that way. She believes that failure to communicate is causing the breakdown of their marriage. When his cousin convinces him he must launch an all-out attack to win Libby back, Quinn sets out to court his wife. He also realizes he must learn from her what went wrong. He starts with a simple date that escalates into a sensual experience. But is sex enough to bring them back together?

This Wild Ride novella in the Rough Riders series is one hot, sexy ride that’s tender at the same time. It’s obvious that Libby and Quinn still love each other after a fourteen year relationship, but it is fun to watch them make it work out after almost losing what they have together. Although it’s short at just over one hundred pages, it’s a must read. Anyone who’s read any of the Rough Riders series should read this book. If you haven’t read the series yet, Strong, Silent Type is a quick way to get the flavor of the rest of the books.

    Wonderful!!!

All the books in the Rough Rider series are great but this is the story I can most relate too. Quinn and Libby weathered the storm and their marriage ended up being stronger then ever.

What I loved about this book was that Quinn and Libby were already married and now had to work on it before it was beyond repair. It was great seeing one of the McKay's being committed from the start, (not that I did not like the hotness of the others and their bad boy image) I love how Quinn finally got his eyes opened and realized he had to open up to keep the love of his life and how Libby's sister made her see that she had been only concentrate about having a baby was hurting her marriage. The book was short, sweet and full of the passion that we have come to expect from Lorelei James.
