Overview

This work contains Strong's classic dictionaries of Biblical Greek and Hebrew with beautiful display of all Greek and Hebrew characters as well as transliteration, and it contains advanced navigational capabilities. To it is appended The Comprehensive Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic Glossary.

Description of Strong's Classic Work

Strong's concise dictionary of Biblical Greek and Hebrew (including Aramaic as well), like his concordance, is a classic reference work for biblical studies and is accessible to the layperson. Each word in Biblical Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic is numbered, presented in Greek/Hebrew script and in transliteration and is accompanied by a pronunciation guide. Each word is defined in English, and the translation(s) of that word in the Authorized English Version are presented. Strong's work was originally published in 1890 under the titles A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Hebrew Bible; with their Renderings in the Authorized English Version and A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek New Testament; with their Renderings in the Authorized English Version. They were bound together with Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.

Description of The Comprehensive Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic Glossary

The Comprehensive Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic Glossary is a concise dictionary/lexicon/glossary for Biblical Hebrew and Biblical Aramaic. It contains glosses for every lexeme (word) in Biblical Hebrew (over 8000) and Biblical Aramaic (over 700). It integrates lexicographic research from various sources to present the best of contemporary scholarship.

Beautiful Greek, Hebrew in This E-Book

This e-book is distinctive in presenting the Greek and Hebrew/Aramaic in their respective scripts in an aesthetically pleasing manner. All Greek and Hebrew in Strong's dictionary is accompanied by beautiful transliteration; you do not need to know Greek or Hebrew to make use of this e-book.

Superior Navigation Features in This E-Book

This digital edition of Strong's Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the Bible + The Comprehensive Biblical Hebrew and Aramaic Glossary (CBHAG) recognizes that you do not generally read dictionaries linearly. As a result, it makes use of all of the navigational capabilities on the various Nook devices, including the use of a two-tiered table of contents, allowing for rapid navigation to a particular entry in the desired dictionary by its first two letters. Note that navigation details might be different in the various Nook applications for platforms other than the Nook itself.

You can navigate directly to a particular entry in Strong's dictionary by searching for that entry by Strong's number with "g" for "Greek" or "h" for Hebrew prepended to it. For example, to navigate to the entry for Strong's Greek #1234, simply type "g1234" in the Find box. This will take you to the page on which Strong's Greek #1234 appears. You can also navigate directly to a particular entry by searching for that entry in transliteration with "g " prepended to it for Strong's Greek words, "h " prepended to it for Strong's Hebrew/Aramaic words, "hc " prepended to it for CBHAG Hebrew words, and "ac " prepended to it for CBHAG Aramaic words. See the book's preface for more details, including transliteration schemes. Note, however, that as of the time of this writing, some Nook models only search forward from your present location in the book. Thus, you may need to navigate first to a location before your desired location. Moreover, it can take the Nook some time to index the book before searching will take place in a reasonable amount of time; wait a day or so after purchasing this e-book to use this navigation option. Indeed, some Nook models search slowly even after that time period, in which case we recommend using the other navigation options.

Note on Version

This e-book was updated on January 14, 2012 to address compatibility issues with recent software updates to certain Nook models (1.4 on Nook Color and Nook Tablet, 1.1 on Nook Simple Touch Reader).

Miklal Software Solutions Strong's Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the Bible for nook contains both Greek and Hebrew (with Aramaic) dictionaries by James Strong. The layout of the dictionary is superb. Each word is given in the original language, and then transliterated into English. Each word includes the Strong's number, pronunciation, and definition. The fonts for both Hebrew and Greek are beautiful. Navigation is easy as there are various types of navigation provided. The first is a table of contents that first provides the Hebrew alphabet, then the Greek alphabet and the Strong's numbers that are related to that letter. Selecting the letter provides the next level of screens, which provides two letters and the Strong's numbers related to those numbers. Another way to navigate is by moving the slider to see letters with Strong's numbers. Another type of navigation is done through hyperlinks within the text. You can click on the Strong's numbers that are given in the definitions. If you know the Strong's number you're looking for, simply type the letter 'g' for Greek or 'h' for Hebrew and then Strong's number. This will take you directly to the definition you want. You can also search for the transliterated word (ex: theos). Simply type g for Greek or h for Hebrew and the transliterated word in lower case with no symbols. For example, to find Theos type g theos. The navigation features make the dictionary a very usable study tool. This is one of the best navigation systems I've seen. Strong's dictionaries are must-have tools for Bible study and Miklal Software Solutions offers yet another must-own edition with Miklal Software Solutions Strong's Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the Bible for nook. Miklal Software Solutions has done an excellent job in developing Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionary of the Bible for nook. The program is well made and easy to navigate, and the Greek and Hebrew fonts are pretty. I recommend Strong's Greek and Hebrew Dictionary of the Bible for nook even if you don't have a nook, because it works great on the nook app. For the price, it's a must-own app for your Bible study needs. Miss having the English words as well. When I purchased this I thought I was getting a concordance. This is a resource for Greek and Hebrew which means I have to look up words in the concordance and then come to the dictionary.

I have been looking for a bible dictionary. I love this one. It's a great buy. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

Only for the scholar who knows how to read Hebrew and Greek.

The concordance isn't there anymore; just the greek and hebrew lexicon. I used Stongs to find verses I partially remembered. I'm just grateful I still have my hardback copy.

It crashes whenever I get past the English pages. It may be something to do with the Hebrew display, as my Hebrew bible does the same.

This book should be part of any Christians library, as it allows you to find the actual Greek & Hebrew meaning of any word in the King James & any other directly interpreted Bible available. I recommend the Strongs Concordance to be purchased as well, if not already part of this book.

Every student of the Bible will learn much about where the meaning of words and where like words are found. Even if a new Bible reader it will help your understanding.
