Like all of Tanenbaum's books, this one contains excruciating details on all aspects of the title subject. More useful for hardcore introductory courses or as a reference when writing papers. I usually wear-out a couple of highlighters on each of his books and fill the margins with notes, trying to keep track of all the data he's dumping on me. This book contains a great deal of discussion on the microcode level, which you're unlikely to find in many other bound volumes.
