About the Author

ROBERT FELGAR is the head of the English Department at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, where he is Professor of English. He is author of Richard Wright (1980) and Understanding Richard Wright's Black Boy (Greenwood 1998). He has written extensively on black literature, with several articles on Wright's novel Native Son, and numerous publications on Mississippi writers.
