I bought this book as a resource for my son and the at-risk high

I bought this book as a resource for my son and the at-risk high school students I mentor. My son was a good to average student with average study skills that was accepted to a top NYC high school. He read this book over the summer to help prepare him for the rigorous program of study he would encounter. Yesterday he came home with tests in the high 90's in Bio and World History and said how grateful he was to have read this book. Not only does he have the highest grade average in most of his classes, homework takes on average half the time it takes his classmates who find themselves struggling with both homework and their studies. After my son read the book, I lent it to the 2 at-risk students I mentor. They have gone from getting C's grades last year to A's this year.

This book gives students not only tools, strategies and tips on how to study for different disciplines, it also helps students learn how to study more efficiently and effectively. It gives really clear and visual examples of the tips and strategies offered, which is a super-plus for my son who is a visual learner due to his dyslexia.

It also gives students ideas on how to approach school and their academic future by motivating and helping students to create personal goals and possible ways to achieve them. It truly has made my interaction with my son and mentees more productive and positive, because now we focus solely on sharing knowledge as opposed to the past, where I had to teach them not only the content but also how to find it and retain it.

Barron's, Thank you for publishing such a wonderful book. I've already recommended this to other parents.

    Full of Great Strategies

Eric Jenson's book probably will not dramatically improve the educational career of the average student, but it will definitely provide an array of helpful hints and strategies that can aid the student. This book is great for the type of student that enjoys making small beneficial changes to his or her life
