Su Doku (or Sudoku) has been dubbed the Rubik's Cube of the 21st century, it’s a cryptic and highly addictive puzzle that involves inserting numbers in a 9x9 grid and making sure that every row and every column and every 3x3 box within the bigger grid contains all the digits from one to nine.

All it takes is the ability to identify the numerals 1-9, a sense for logic, a methodical cast of mind and a large measure of application to boot. You can get better and quicker, if you put your mind to it. And there is no predicting who will excel: you can be a disaster at maths and a whiz at Su Doku!

I love Su Doku and this book travels easily and has several levels that are nice for what you may want to try out. I use Su Doku to help me clear my head to go to sleep and by the time I finish 1 puzzle, I am ready to sleep. When traveling, it is a great book to pass the time.

I actually bought this book as a joke for a friend who used to say Sudoku was only for smart people. I really thought he would put it in one of his sovereign boxes and never look at it again. Little did I know that two days later he would call me and start yelling at me because he loves the book and has not been able to put the book down. And that because of the book he would rather stay home now and figure out a new puzzle then go out with his friends. He is now a Sudoku addict thanks to this book!

This book is a good starting place for beginners to get some basic information on how to solve easier puzzles. It helped me get my logic on tract and help with some easy tips that I missed out on when I was just trying to solve puzzles on my own. The tips on pairs an triplets are a little to conscise and I needed Extreme Sudoku for some more examples. The small size makes it convient to carry around. The numerous easy puzzles are what some beginners need to boost their confidence on solving puzzles.

I was looking for an instructional book that would help me with difficult puzzles. This book leaves you high and dry. 'Dummies' tells you that 'the more difficult constructs and strategies are best learned by practice.' WHAT??? Any person who thinks logically can figure out all of the help they give you in this book. There's no point in buying unless you are an absolute beginner.
