~ Why Does God Keep His Children in a Box?

Dr. Daniel J. Sayer has just learned that his life is essentially over, yet at the same time is reluctantly ushered into the heart of a terrorist crisis, with the lives of thousands of children in the proverbial balance.

------------------------------------------------------------------

At the turn of the 22nd century, thousands of children at the World Children's Orphanage, U.S. compound are taken hostage by militant Eco-political terrorists. One child will die horrifically each hour. The demands: "Permanently disable the world's fossil fuel refineries, and power plants...one plant for one child's life, non-negotiable."

Daniel J. Sayer, PhD, author, lecturer, advisor to world leaders, reluctantly finds himself mired in the crisis, pairing his own unique abilities, with the staff of the WCO, the Military, and the courageous sacrifices of the children, in their desperate efforts to combat the mysterious and ruthless terrorist group, the QUALM, and their world-televised Illustrations of Death.

Along the way, Dr. Sayer begins to realize that he is being steered through a twisted plot of metaphysical proportions, fighting not only over the fate of the children, and for the future of the Earth, but for his own beleaguered soul.

Thematic content and style of G. F. Smith's writing is a contemporary cross between the Twilight Zone®, and the X-Files®, with respectable portions of self-effacing humor and abstract curiosity carefully weaved in for balanced measure.

Meet the Author

BSM degree; past Trainer, Copywriter, and Employee Involvement Leader in a corporate Continuous Improvement environment; long time writer; artistic, craftsman; loves history, museums, science & metaphysics, and adventure: motorcycles, spelunking, skydiving, hiking…and marriage. Have four amazing and talented children and a wonderful wife who cares beyond measure.

As an avid Reader, I know what I look for in the stories I read: something that sparks familiar; something that moves me to consider things that perhaps I’ve already been moved by, and can appreciate again. Or, perchance, something that moves me afresh (new concepts, experiences, perspectives, insights, quests or adventures).

SUBJECTED Books I-III covers a topic that has been considered extraordinarily controversial throughout humanity’s history: Creation and Evolution; Science and Religion; God and Aliens. First and foremost, the works were not written to propagate, promulgate, proselytize, or in any other way, preach the supremacy of any one perspective. I’m truly just a humble, genuine man with more questions than answers.

I do suppose though, to quote the books, that “Life has its reasons….” I also personally think, and it is deeply related throughout the entire series, that there is more going on than what we know. We all came from somewhere, and the flow of Time is apparently taking us somewhere. Where is that? I don’t exactly know either. But, I do believe the following:

We (all those science guys, actually) have discovered a universe of the extremely BIG: quadrillion, trillion, gazillion Stars, Galaxies, Clusters, Nebulae, Black Holes, etc., that exists in an envelope of space that is apparently growing; accelerating, not only in its expansion, but in its mystery and grandeur. We have also discovered a universe of the small, which in and of itself, possibly contains just as many sub-components as the big universe. And we, strangely, have found ourselves smack in the middle, looking up and looking down, considering the wonder of it all.

The amazing part…is that we learned all of this through our little three-and-a-half-pound brains. Wow! How’d we do that? Which has led me to consider: there’s got to be more to us…than just these little three-and-a-half-pound brains.
