    Great Book

This is an interesting book. It's great for beginners and provides a source of inspiration for more experienced embroiderers.

    more from this reviewer

Great intro to basic embroidery, great for the absolute beginner.

If your new to embroidery this book is a great starter. This book is really for the beginner. The text is easy to grasp. The pictures are clear. The included iron on transfers may take some practice to master but worth it.
There is nothing here for anyone other than the true beginner. The patterns are hip and different from your grandmothers beginner patterns.

A fresh and fun book of stitching projects

This is such a great book! It brought back my love of embroidery and got me started stitching again. I was also able to share it with my friend who hasn't stiched before because it has very clear easy to follow instructions for all levels. The designs are fresh and fun too!

    Great patterns, good instructions

I really liked this book. The patterns are fun and hip, yet when making a gift for my mother-in-law I was able to find things suitable for her tea towels. The instructions are basic. I was mainly looking for patterns not instructions as I know how to do the basic stitches. Overall, I was very impressed. The book also doubles as a folder for the reusable transfers, the front and back of the book have pockets for the transfers cut out and used (Great feature!) I am looking forward to the Craft Pad which just came out at the end of March 2008. Hopefully, there will be even more patterns for my future projects!

    Disappointing & boring

Jenny's Hart collection of iron ons is quite disappointing. There really are not even close to 100 patterns. Instead she'll take one pattern, a dog for example, and flip it left and right and then have a few of the exact same pattern that are smaller or bigger. The kit is themed, there are patterns for fruit, babies, cars, trucks, aliens, baked goods etc... The patterns seemed a bit childish to me and crudely drawn. The owls look downright scary and the stack of pancakes look sloppy. The designs in this kit are quite plain compared to the awesome patterns you can order on her sublime stitching website. However, I have been quite pleased with her first published item, 'the stitch it kit' and have happily used those iron-ons.
