All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Substance is a double-disc set collecting New Order's singles, including several songs that were never available on the group's albums, at least in these versions. Although it is a double-disc set, Substance isn't overly long. Instead it offers a perfect introduction to New Order, while providing collectors with an invaluable collection of singles.

    Just Buy This Thing Already!!!

New Order is so full of integrity. These songs were revolutionary when they came out. Many British new wave bands used cute, little beats and cute, little synths, but New Order blasted ''Blue Monday.'' You gotta rock out to these beats.

    A great 2 disc set

Many of the songs on here are enjoyable and very catchy. Especially bizzare love triangle. One of the best bands of the 80's.
