Overview

Grief- and guilt-ridden Skylar sometimes wonders if she has the strength to go on living after her life mate's murder. She functions in the physical world only, denying her supernatural gifts and any subtle realities, existing only to ensure her precious son's health and happiness and living far, far away from the shattering memories of Dunleavy Castle. But as much as she tries to forget, as much as she strives to deny, as much as she tries to punish herself, her immense desire for one man refuses to be purged from her mind or body.

Jax Ammadon's suffering has made him stronger than any Watcher alive. For hundreds of years he's burned for the one woman whom fate has designated could never be his. He watches helplessly as Skylar's denial of the truth of what they are to one another slowly kills her. Her grieving period must come to an end.

It's time for the new King of the Watchers to claim what's his.

I read this book right after I finished Subtle Magic and I can tell you
that you are not supposed to. I think this is book four but I read it
because he has the same characters as Subtle Magic. I love this series
and I hope the author contiues it for a while. If you are not into
detailed sex scenes please steer clear of these books.

Magic's Destiny: Downpour Chapter three Part Two by Violet Gardner

When
Raina got back to her room, there were two girls waiting there for her.

One had very light blonde hair, almost to the point where it looked white. The other girl's hair was dark purple, so that it appeared black.

She looked a them. "What are your names?"

The white haired girl spoke up. "I'm
Krystal and this is
Shaya."

Raina turned to
Shaya. "Show me wha you can do."

Shaya nodded and a soft voice spoke in her head. 'I am mute, though a master of magic. You can communicate with me by thinking and l will pick it up.'

Rain thought 'Okay,' and
Shaya moved a book. It rocketed through the air and landed, open, on
Raina's hand.

"Impressive. Anything else?"

The book looked like Lady Rosa's face was on it.

"Is this just an illusion?"

'Yes.' Shaya replied.

Raina turned to
Krystal. "What about you?"

"I will need something that can move." Raina nodded and created a firey rabbit that hopped through the air.

Krystal cupped her hands and white light shone through. She gathered it and shot it at the rabbit. The rabbit's movements stopped in midair as it was frozen in a crystal ball. "Anything else?"

"I can use ice, too."

"That's good. Girls' you may sleep. We will begin training tomorrow." Shaya and Krystal nodded, and left.

When
Raina was alone, she began planning. 'It is obvious l use
Krystal to freeze my sister, but what about Shaya? Perhaps l use her to create an illusion to lure Aiisha into a trap. Yes.. yes.. perfect.'
