Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
Barbera Sher Author of I Could do Anything if I Only Knew What it Was "Funny, delicious and wise — Sark makes a gloomy day sunny. Even her handwriting makes me smile."

Julia Cameron Author of The Artist's Way "Sark's gentle and effervescent work is a festive, creative catalyst that throws open a wide and generous gate."

Library Journal
SARK, an author, artist, and incest survivor with many years of therapy and self-healing behind her, wishes to shine her "beacon of hope to the world" as she encourages and inspires women of all ages to become "succulent." She defines this as transcending past pains and feeling the freedom of full self-expression. Very candidly she shares the tragic, the glorious, the intimate, and the adventurous in her life, dispensing sage advice and a lengthy menu of readily doable suggestions for arousing creativity and nurturing self-discovery. Bubbly, humorous, and at times just far-out, SARK is enjoyable to listen to. Her program, comprised of passages from her 1997 book of the same title, stories, and anecdotes, belongs in public library self-help collections and also in the hands of men who seek a better understanding of the women in their lives.Barbara Vaughan, Buffalo State Coll. Lib., N.Y.

    Wild Succulent Woman

I loved this book, it gave me courage and lifted my spirit when I was dealing with a very painful time in my life. This book made me proud that I was a woman and helped me to end alot of the traditional ideas and veiw points society shoves down our throat as to what is and is not acceptable for a woman. It will make you laugh and make you cry but most of all it will make you a VERY strong Woman....

A Heaping Helping of Self Help

I picked up this book not knowing anything of Sark....at first read it seemed a little manic. I picked it up again, and found parts to be insightful and comforting. Her zaniness is fun, however a bit distracting. I liked what she had to say on self love and nurturing your soul. Overall, I'm glad I discovered Sark...although I'm not sure I want to be a succulent wild woman. Not today, anyway.

I am wild, succulent and a woman!

I am only 20 years old and have read this book twice. I feel as if I have written it myself. Every woman needs to read this book. It's all about understanding your feelings, why you feel them and that you are not the only one who has made less than optimal decisions. And it's okay! Be wild be young, BE A WOMAN is what this book is all about
