    Quick easy read

The majority of the book takes place on the golf course, which means it helps if you like golf. At times it feels like the author skips ahead one chapter ends and the next starts in a diffent scene. Over all it was a good read and it was free.

    Not Recommended

This it is written in an extremely simplistic style. No in depth character development - - more like "got up, took a shower, ate breakfast, etc.". Actually this book is very boring.

    TERRIBLE!!!

Poor character devolpment and weak storyline. The plot was predictable and the ending was anti-climatic. If you want to read the frustrated fantasies of a wannabe PGA tour pro this book is for you.

I don't believe these authors recommended this

The reviewer complaining this won't open needs to get real. BN has apps for reading their books on many different devices, not just nook.

As far as this book is concerned, it is written in an extremely simplistic style. I do doubt these authors endorsed it. I'm not saying it is bad, but it is simplistic. No description of characters or their feelings, just kind of dialog like they are talking at each other.

    Don't bother

It shouldn't be free, I should've been paid to read it. Boring, simple, and trite; I could barely finish it. Obviously self published, this author needs to hire an editor.

Not even for a golf fan

Simplistic story with no likable characters. Author shows distinct lack of knowledge about golf, golf terminology, PGA events and golf pros.
To those who suggest golf fans would like it ... not so! Knowledge of golf made this poorly written book much harder to digest.

    Not worth it

Book was anticlimactic and cheesey...misleading since a great thriller/mystery author James Patterson endorsed it.

    Very long, very boring

Simple writing, some flaws in facts. I wouldn't give it any stars if it were possible. With so many good books to read, don't waste your time. Christine P.

    Terrible Read

The story line could have made a decent book, but this is extremely elementary writing. I don't know what kind of favor James Patterson owed this guy, but it must have been big for him to endorse this book. Poor character development. I read the entire book only because I felt invested and was curious about the end. Find a different book to spend your time on. Trust me, you'd be glad you didn't read this.

    Sudden death

No energy. Characters were vague and flat. Dialogue often cheezy and immature. All talk and no action. A major waste. Took more energy to read it than to write it.

Too much spending, not enough suspense.

The hero was too shallow to keep my interest. The middle of the book was like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." This didn't move the plot at all. AND it's a BerNese Mountain Dog, not from Burma!

    It was ok

I agree with some of the other reviews. Story was predictable and simple. I finished it hoping it would get better but it really never did.

This book was a great quick read. If you like good and murder mysteries this is a decent one. Liked the main character. Will agree not a lot of depth to characters but it was fun.

When I started "Sudden Death" by Michael Balkind I expected a straight forward murder mystery set in golf circles. I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a bit more to the book.
First of all I have to say that I loved the setting, since I have many golf playing friends and neighbours who follow the sport closely and so I have become familiar with the tournaments and the expressions. All that is peculiar and odd about golf players is brilliantly depicted in the portrayal of the main character and drawn into the sports world most tension and suspense seemed to be coming from the games, the teams and the rivalry instead of murder.
The title character is hunted by the press and has a hate for all things paparazzi and is widely hated for his temper. He receives a death thread and so we wait for the execution of this death foretold.
When I found on my kindle that after twenty percent there was still no sign of this murder I was starting to get restless, expecting a murder at any given moment and at every corner and became to appreciate the suspense of a death foretold. I naturally cannot tell you when the murder happens, how and what happens after, that would be spoiling the fun, but rest assured that this book will keep you on the edge of your seat in any case.
Besides the tension that permeates the book there is also some surprising depth to the way some characters develop throughout the book and the main characters are backed up by an excellent supporting cast.
I am very glad I picked this book.

Not Very Good (Can I give a Quarter Star?)

Hardly worth the 99 cents I paid for this. Very poorly researched from a golfer's perspective. NO professional will stop for a sandwich at the turn of ANY tournament, let alone the Masters. The whole idea is not too bad, but routines, practices, demeanor on the course -- all humbug. Very Bad!!
