I don't understand why some readers are so close-minded. I am a Christian and did not find this book morally wrong (like one of the latest reviews said). I probably don't read as much as most of you do and i was instantly hooked to this book. I read at least 100+ pages a day of this book (and that's a lot for me!) There is so much love and passion that it's relatable. Even though the whole "being from another planet" aspect was different, it makes you broaden your perspective. It can also be symbolistic. I definitely recommend this book!

Suddenly a Bride by Ruth Ann Nordin Across the Stars Book 1 I just love Ruth's books! Her hero's are the sweetest guys and you just fall for them as they try and please the love of their life. In this case our hero is Rilo An from Pandoran, a planet where there were only men left. He goes to Star Systems Unlimited and pays them to choose him a wife from Earth. He wants a woman willing to be his Life Mate and who will want children with him. He knows when he finds her that a special hormone will release from him giving her the desire to bond with him and that will make them Life Mates, or in earth terms, married. While waiting for his trip to earth he meets Marn. Marn has chosen to go to Earth and look rather then have the Life Mate chosen for him. Marn, who becomes Mark on earth, wants to know the woman would choose him as well. They meet again once they arrive and even end up working in the same place... a job that was the most challenging for them, as they are coming from an extremely advanced world. But lonely without women. Caitlyn Davis is a waitress. Her first husband, Randy, passed away three years ago. She worked with her best friend, Sandy who was also Randy's sister. A man comes to the diner and Caitlyn waits on him, he is one of the sweetest men she's met in awhile. He asks her to eat with him and she does. Rilo's earth name is now Chris West and before Caitlyn knows what hit her, she is suddenly Caitlyn West. Through out the story we see where Chris feels like he has to be like Randy to gain Caitlyn's love. The villain in the story is her mother who likes to rule her daughters lives, she manages to get her claws into Chris and convince him that he has to do certain things to prove his love for her daughter. Poor Chris is so eager to prove he is as worthy as Randy that he falls for it. I can't wait until the next two books are written. **Sexual situations within marriage. Rated R.

Made me laugh out loud in places, shake my head and groan in others, but it was certainly worth raeding.

I loved this book so much. The characters are so well writin that you find yourself getting mad about they way Caitlyn's mother treats Chris and holding your breath hoping Caitlyn and Chris have a happy ending. I HOPE Ruth writes a book with marks story. It would be awesome if Ruth put mark and sandy together.

Chris is a man that truely wants to be in a commetted marriage ( yah). What woman wouldnt want that(duh). His planet has not women left on it, so he is left with two options Earth being his choise. He wants a woman that wants to be bonded with him and to have childern Caitlyn is a widow that wants love and childern. Chris is a welcome love that she will have to prove to himthat she truely loves him. There bonding (marriage) isnt christain traditional but I like the fact that they are together for life. Great love story

I read some complaints but i didnt think anything was wrong with this book. I mean the fact that no other person can touch them sexually is amazing! I love the fact that its "love". Its automatic with them. The sex isnt even that detailed so i dnt know why people throw a tantrum about it. Good read

Not for young adults. Or from other posts I could suggest not for religious fanatics... I'm looking forward to more in this series.

I really did like this book. I'm a christian and found nothing morally wrong with this story. If you're easily offended by sex between a couple in love than this book is not for you. Also this is about aliens, so don't take it to heart about the marriage and sex.

The story at the start was not very easy to believe. But the story is so unbelievable it keeps your attention. I would read another in the series.

Cute concept and a quick read, but it did not leave me wanting to read more. Parts of the relationship were very real, like the doubt and insecurities that come with new romance or the MIL friction. I found myself having a hard time accepting Caitlyn's reactions, especially early on. I expected there to be much more akwardness. I kept thinking, "If I were Caitlyn, I would be furious, angry, confused," at least in the beginning. No woman would just be at peace with the life changing situation. I suppose one could rationalize it as a result of the unique bond Chris establishes, but it bugged me. For a free book it was okay and I may check out another freebie by this author to see if things improve, but I won't be returning to this series.
