I appreciate the review. I have told people recently that the book was written 20 years ago, so that is something to consider. However, if you use it with that in mind, there are still may useful recipes and good info. The La Leche League still has it on their recommended reading list. Thanks for the feedback!

Most of the recipes in this book are made with obscene amounts of fruit juice concentrate, dried fruits & milk powder...which all contain very high amounts of sugar (milk powder to a significantly lesser degree). Sugar is sugar and it impacts the body and the bloodstream in much the same way, whether it's been "refined" or not. Most people don't realize that drinking a glass of apple juice is much more similar to drinking a glass of kool-aid made with double the sugar called for than it is to eating an actual apple!
