Elise sells magic, charms and dreams out the back door of her brightly painted wagon. A Witch and daughter of the Maja, she believes that everything happens for a reason, but she has never quite understood why there is a hollow feeling in the place where her heart should be.

But Elise's past is catching up with her. In the dark of night and burn of day, the Fevered turn their soulless faces in her direction, changing course. They hunt her, intent on devouring her light.

SUGAR MOON is the first novella in the MAJA Trilogy.

    Good start little shakey though

I have enjoyed reading Diemer's books before and she is a very talented author, however, that being said this book felt very weak. The world building feels incomplete and the races of people flat. The characters themselves feel a bit weak as well and honestly if the book itself had been a bit longer and the pace slowed it would have probably read much better. The story is interesting and I would like to read the rest. However if you are looking for the slow proper world building found in Diemer's other works you might want pass this by.
