Overview

This fast-paced thriller twists and turns its way through the prplexing investigation of several mysterious murders that will have readers on the edge of their seats.
When the set of twins are released from prison they have one thing on their minds; to settle the score against the people who put them there in the first place. The revenge killings begin in the District of Columbia with the murder of the prison warden and his wife — both found viciously beaten and brutally dismembered — and to continue on the opposite coast where a socialite is found dead in Malibu. Baffled by the gruesome murders, Detective Phoenix Perry ends her vacation early to conduct an unauthorized investigation and embarks upon a thrilling adventure to unravel the mystery and put end to violence.
Sugar & Spice is a gripping race to discover who is behind all of the murder, corruption, and revenge. It is sure to keep readers guessing up to the stunning climax. From a promising new voice in fiction, this novel will keep spines tingling and pages turning.

This book will have you confused at times but in the end it will have you saying 'Oh, my goodness,' I would have never thought. This book is off the hook and has a lot of suspense. I read it in a day and a half that is how good it is. You couldn't take it away from my handss if you tried.

Norrell prison Warden Louis Perkins and his wife were murdered in their home but, unforunately, this was just the beginning of the killing spree by the killers who only seem to have revenge on their minds. Agent Phoenix Perry and her partner Agent Kelly McPherson are assigned the case and it's their job to stop these killers before the death count gets way out of hand. But, in the process, there are some friends of Phoenix that end up murdered and this case becomes a very personal one for her. Sugar & Spice by Keith Lee Johnson is a murder mystery filled with excitement, suspense, and more than enough surprises to keep readers interested throughout the novel. When you think you understand what's going on, a few pages later, you might realize that your guesses and assumptions were incorrect. Keith writes the book in short, concise chapters and the pacing of the story never feels bogged down, even though there are a lot of characters in this story. Agent Phoenix Perry was a very fun character and this reader looks forward to more mysteries with her as the lead character. And, with Pretenses due out in June, the wait won¿t be long.

When an author approaches such topics as murder, mystery, justice, and revenge you hope that they have excelled in their criminal research to bring the reader to a state of heightened intrigue and unpredictable resolutions as well as introduce us to a variety of characters with felonious profiles. Keith Lee Johnson, author of 'Sugar & Spice', delivers an epic tale involving a series of sordid acts that stem from several climatic events making the chase intensely crafted as the list of suspects and corpses grow. For 10 years Norrell Prison, a prison known for its gang rapes, torture, drug trafficking, and prostitution, has been the place Alex and Sam have called 'home'. Shortly after their release a massive killing spree erupts beginning with their former warden of the prison and his wife. An act so savage that the FBI has been called in to take control of the matter. FBI agents, Phoenix and Kelly, are assigned to ferret out the details with little to no clues and an ever growing list of suspects. With skill and prompt resolution desired, Agent Phoenix possesses the qualities that provide an intense exploitation and a culminating personal vendetta continuously offering readers a play-by-play of the rich and famous and and their not so elite counterparts, who fall victim to a mentally deranged killer. Keith Lee Johnson has transported readers into a spiraling web of intrigue so graphic and complex that is leaves the reader on the edge of their seat until the final page has been turned. - Monique Baldwin, Founder of Flavah Reviewers

Keith writes an excellent novel about twins who do everything together. They fight together, went to jail together, and even kill together. With an unforgettable FBI ageant, Phoenix Perry, Sugar and Spice is a novel that will have you on the edge of your seat anticipating the ending. A FANtastic read!!!

Sugar & Spice blew me away! The book was full of surprises and the steamy sex scenes were exquisitely done. A real turn on!! I especially liked the relationship Phoenix Perry had with her husband. It's refreshing to read books that portray a healthy marriage. Now the twins, these two were cold, but I totally understood where they were coming from. I think some of their victims got what was coming to them. And what about the scene where the guy was . . . I better not tell that part. LOL I did not want this story to end.
