Overview

Sugar Tax is the first album OMD recorded without Paul Humphreys, and while the record is less adventurous than most of the group's previous albums, that's not necessarily due to his absence. Instead, OMD began a slow decline into light soul-inflected synth-pop in the late '80s, and Sugar Tax, while thoroughly competent, is nothing more than predictably refined and pleasant dance-pop.

this is the best OMD album! i'm really surprised that ''sugar tax'' did not gain much popularity nor has too many heard of it. if you are a fan of OMD and you like upbeat synth pop bands like erasure, you'll love this album! my favorites are tracks 1, 3 and 5 but all the songs are great!
