Suite Cowboy, Vintage #101

Ava Walsh has one more week left of her month long evaluation period for the managerial position at Holland Hotel when her boss announces he’s going on vacation. Left in charge and determined to earn a full time job, she vows to tackle any problem that arises. What she doesn’t plan on is the Cattlemen’s Association convention coming to the hotel the same week she is in charge—or the rugged cowboy who always seems to show up when something goes wrong. And a lot of things are going wrong!

Cattle Rancher, Hank Holland, is tired of bending over backward for his half-brother Drake and bailing him out of trouble. Hoping to reunite with his brother and bring the family back together, Hank swears this is the last time he’s going to come to his rescue. Hank agrees to take over for his brother, anonymously, and finds himself evaluating the new employee at the hotel. She is one hot filly. Maybe the job won’t be difficult at all. If things work out, he can keep her busy solving problems at the hotel during the day, and enjoy a little one on one at night…as long as he can keep his identity secret.

Meet the Author

Top Selling Romance Author, Debra Kayn, lives with her family in the beautiful coastal mountains of Oregon on a hobby farm. She enjoys riding motorcycles, gardening, playing tennis, and fishing. A huge animal lover, she always has a dog under her desk when she writes and chickens standing at the front door looking for a treat. She’s famous in her family for teaching a 270 lb hog named Harley to jog with her every morning.

Her love of family ties and laughter makes her a natural to write heartwarming contemporary stories to the delight of her readers. Oh, let’s cut to the chase. She loves to write about REAL MEN and the WOMEN who love them.

When Debra was nineteen years old, a man kissed her without introducing himself. When they finally came up for air, the first words out of his mouth were…will you have my babies? Considering Debra’s weakness for a sexy, badass man, who is strong enough to survive her attitude, she said yes. A quick wedding at the House of Amour and four babies later, she’s living her own romance book. You can find out more about Debra and her books at www.debrakayn.com

Suite Cowboy is a HEA that delighted me and spoke to my heart from page 1. Ava is a 22 yr. old that has had to grow up way too soon and had more responsibilities thrust at her that someone normally would have at that age. She is struggling to provide for her grandmother that is her only living relative and has dementia. (I know firsthand how devastating this disease can be and the stress that it puts on family members.) Ava is trying to land a job as the hotel manager, this job would provide her with the financial means to take care of her grandmother and keep her family home. The hotel owner has his brother Hank come to the hotel as a guest and put Ava through a series of tests to see if she is right for the job. Ava does a great job of handling things on the outside, but through Kayn’s words we get to see the struggle Ava is going through on the inside as well. Ava is conflicted over her attraction to Hank and her need to always follow the rules, and wanting to really break rule #24 of no fraternizing with the guests(she memorized the employee handbook) and just living in the moment for once in her life and not worrying about her obligations. I found all the characters to be very likable and I enjoyed the quirkiness of some of the secondary characters as well. I loved Ava’s optimism and her willingness to try and fix everything that gets thrown at her. I think Hank sums up Ava perfectly when he is thinking about her with this “She’d had her fair share of disappointments, but she never made excuses for the hardships thrown her way.” And “She met all her challenges head on and that impressed the hell out of him.” If you like a sweet romance, you will like this one.
