Your couch-swapping mate,
Rick

*That's cute. Go have fun in Australia and leave ME—your girlfriend for an entire semester—to waste away on campus, alone.

**Um, think again. Your couch is already taken.

***Great. Now I've got to find a place for the (unbelievably hot, it turns out) Aussie to crash. But there's only one couch available: the one in my dorm room. . . .

Alyssa and her boyfriend have decided to take a break over their winter holiday. Rick decides to go to Australia while Alyssa plans on taking classes and working extra hours. What She doesn't plan on is finding a boy outside her dorm waiting for her. Jude expects a couch in Rick's suite as payment for the couch he's lending her ex-boyfriend in Australia. However, Rick never mentioned Jude (typical) and when Alyssa discovers his suite is filled, she takes it upon herself to let him stay with her (against the rules). She finds herself becoming Jude's tour guide. While she doesn't have a lot of time, she feels she owes to Rich to show Jude around town. Before long, she's letting go and having fun. Because she and Rick left things open, she doesn't know where she stands relationshipwise, but she does know that the though of Jude with another girl makes her downright jealous. Even though he's only here for a few weeks, will it be enough time to loose her heart to him? This book is perfect for snowy day and is sure to please.

Things you should never do that involve a new guy: * Never fall for the guy the very first day at your very first university, and then hang out with him constantly. * Never allow him to think it would be best to go on a break. * Never let him leave, during the break of the relationship, to go to Australia. There is no possible way that things will work out! * Never act coy about the whole situation - get him to talk since he's going to be Down Under (but hopefully not for long). * Never have him replaced by a hot guy with an accent (an Australian one to be exact). Unfortunately, all these things that you should never do? Alyssa has done them all. Now she's stuck during winter break without her "boyfriend," Rick, a new Australian roomie, and thoughts on whether or not Rick will stay true to her, or even if she will stay true to him. Rachel Hawthorne never fails to entertain with her seasonal novels, and SUITE DREAMS is one of the finest. Ms. Hawthorne is able to perfectly capture the woes of first love and first boyfriends. What's the best part? Seeing the main character get stronger and understanding exactly what is best for her - and not for some guy!

Rachel Hawthorne is a good author, I have read most of her book and liked them all. This was very interesting to read. A book about couch exchange. Alyssa is staying at school over break to work and take a couple classes. And her boyfriend has gone to Austrilla and has someone in his place to swap couches with. So they staring hanging out and having a good time getting to know each other. But you never know what happens when you boyfriend leaves you with a Aussie.
