Two people who helped a great deal on the Suki series, Suki and Sarah, followed up with stories on their own. They stick close to the series and are true to the characters.
Sarah's work comes first in the alternate timeline. It begins in Sammy's On The Beach, near Eglin Air Force Base. In Suki IV, John and Suki's assigned security team thwarts a kidnapping attempt on the couple. Sara's story imagines the kidnapping as successful and tells the story of how profiteers for Iranian customers exploit the couple, body and mind, for their own gain.
Suki's work follows the timeline set by Sarah, after the couple is liberated. She examines the couple's mental and spiritual recovery from their brutal captivity and government debriefing.
