Summa Theologicaby Thomas Aquinas, St Thomas Aquinas
In recent years, increased interest in medieval studies and Catholic theology have revealed St. Thomas as more than just quasi-official theologian to the Roman Catholic church, confirming his stature as one of the greatest thinkers the West has ever known. In his masterwork, the Summa, he synthesises Aristotelian concepts on the nature of the living world and man, with Biblical teaching on God's loving purpose in creating them.

My feelings on this book are mixed. It does a good job of condensing the Summa, but be warned that it ends where Aquinas stopped writing. The full Summa has 4 books. The remainder were finished by Br. Reginald, who was Aquinas' scribe. Aquinas did not write his own books but dictated them to Reginald, so he has a better idea than anyone has to how Aquinas would have finished the Summa.
