Overview

Summertime and the lovin’ is easy...until it’s not.

Compass Girls, Book 3

Too much love and loss taught Jade Compton to protect her heart and her sanity by steering clear of all that romance nonsense. She’s doing just fine, working two jobs, hanging out with her cousins and her best friend, Liam.

But when a combination of unbearable heat wave and a case of the boredom blues knocks her down, she longs to do something spontaneous…maybe even a little bit reckless.

Liam Harrison met Jade when she was sixteen—in the local cemetery. If he’s learned anything after eight years of friendship, it’s that Jade has a wild streak a mile wide. And while he doesn’t want to tame the adventurous woman, he wouldn’t mind showing her a few sexy ways to channel some of her impulsiveness. With him. In the bedroom.

When he proposes a sexy, no-strings-attached summer fling, Jade jumps at the chance to spice things up and indulge some pretty kinky fantasies. Then summer ends…and Jade comes to the uncomfortable realization that there’s only one place she’s comfortable in her own skin—Liam’s arms.

Warning: Excessive heat in this story—in the bedroom, the barn, the kitchen, the bar. Drink lots of water. Stay hydrated!

    Hot and fiery read!

Love this series and Jade and Liam did not disappoint. It took them 8 years of being friends for things to change from just one kiss. Sorrow and sadness brought them together but through the years they had built a great friendship. Liam finally decided what he wanted he just had to convince Jade of the same thing. She was everything he needed in his life. But she just didn't know it. Jade was hiding behind her fears and not sure of getting involved with Liam and most of all not wanting to harm their friendship. The author did a great job of telling their story. It was full of the same fire Jade had running through her veins which means never a dull moment. The sex is explosive between them but is it enough? Great read and highly recommend!

    Hot yet sweet

Jade and Liam are like oil and vinegar personality-wise., until you look deeper. A long time friendship turns friends with benefit pact when Jade is reckless and Liam decides he can help control the urges she has. The action between them is combustible, but the tenderness of the book will make you possibly cry a few times. Light BDSM is mentioned. While not required, I do recommend the series be read in order.

Jayne and Mari have brought us a wonderful story. Jade and Liam

Jayne and Mari have brought us a wonderful story. Jade and Liam are not perfect, they are realistic. Jade has emotional issues she has to deal with. Liam pushes her to be herself. Love this series.

Better than the first two books...

After the first two extremely disappointing books in this series, I was really rooting for the two badasses of the bunch. I'm glad Jade didn't disappoint me. She was tough, fierce, loyal, stubborn, a fighter, rude, a cusser, courageous, a sweetheart and super kinky! I loved the chemistry between her and Liam and the fact that we got to see how they met, became best friends then lovers was awesome because in the last book, that relationship was rushed and not explained. Here we see their friendship/relationship progress. The light BDSM elements introduced throughout the book and Jade and Liam's relationship is done quite nicely and very erotically.

Its still very frustrating to see that Vicky's disease is being glossed over, Sterling's book is the next and final installment in the Compass Girls series and I'm afraid these two authors are just going to spring some unfortunate news on us readers regarding dear Vicky after glossing over her illness in all three books and that would just suck....

    Love this series

Summer Fling was a great addition to the series. It's great to see characters that can be strong and sweet. I loved the interaction between the main characters and catching up with the old. The authors hit a realm of emotions throughout the book.

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿ They met eight years ago in the middl

    My rating: 4.5 of 5 ¿¿

They met eight years ago in the middle of the night at the cemetery, each grieving their own loss. And in the years since then Jade Compton and Liam Harrison had become fast friends.

Jade is a bundle of energy, adventurous and at times reckless. She is one of the Compass Girls, the Compton cousins who are as close as sisters, and any spare time is spent with them. Days Jade works with her family but at night she tends at the bar and doesn't think twice about jumping in the middle of a brawl to try and break it up.

The summer is already hot and boring, when in a moment of unguarded recklessness, Jade ends up challenging Liam with a kiss. And in an unexpected move, Liam challenges her right back...... to a summer of unrestricted sexual adventure, but with an end date.

Liam knows he wants more out of Jade than only a few months, but he also knows her well enough that any mention of long term commitments will have her running for the hills. This way he hopes he will slowly earn her trust while exploring all of the sexual curiosity she shows, and allow him to let his dominant side shine through.

    *****

PHEW!! Take that you blasted Canadian winter!!! I'll sic Mari Carr & Jane Rylon on your arse!!!
Yup, found out quickly I was overdressed for the reading of this book!!

First off..... I adored the characters. I really did. Jade is a beer-slinging, smart-mouthed, swearing spark plug with bristles a mile long, but it's all there to protect the most tender of hearts. All of it is pure self-preservation. She's lost enough and doesn't want to risk losing more, so she works hard at not caring too much. But life and love don't work that way.

Liam sees her for who and what she is. Sees right through her self-protective layers and outrageous behaviour down to the core of her. He loves it all, the whole package. He needed time to get over his own loss and to learn the value of what he had in Jade, but he is confident in his feelings and in how to handle her.

Some of the dialogue, the banter between these two is so entertaining, so dynamic, it had me chuckling throughout the book. The irreverent nature of Jade is hilarious at times. And Liam's corrective dominating response is positively panty-melting....of course, half the time that is what Jade is after!!

The heat........well.......I think you should consider very carefully when and where you are going to be reading this book. Unless you are an excellent poker player, I would avoid commuter trains and doctor's waiting rooms. It is HOT, people. FRICKIN HOT!! Lip-smacking, finger-licking, spine-tingling heat.......

This is a third book in the Compass Girls series, but can quite easily be read as a standalone, even though the entire cast of characters are recurring. But why would you.....just read them ALL!!

¿A salty, fierce and salacious tale of ultimate trust.¿
