Every step from sheep to suit as it was done in Sweden at the beginning of the 20th century. The author shows in large colorful pictures and brief text how a sheep is shorn, the wool is washed, dyed, prepared, and spun into yarn. The yarn is woven into cloth. A taylor uses the cloth to make a suit for a little boy to wear. Although in this book everything is done by hand, the basic process is still the same today. It can fascinate a small child and lead him or her to understand that clothing is made by someone and does not grow by magic on store shelves. Elsa Beskow's pictures are very appealing.
I have read this book to groups of young children, aged 3-6 and it never failed to hold their interest.
