Summer in Tuscany based on 0 ratings. 2 reviews.
The cover of this book caught my eye. And bearing in mind the old saw about 'You can¿t judge a book by its cover,' I went ahead and bought it. My instincts were good. I was plunged into wine, food, fun, festas, a parrot, and I was speaking Italian, too! The author makes you feel that you are right there. Reading this is like watching a charming summer movie.
We faithfully explored this author¿s footsteps to the Lake Country, then Verona and Venice, and to San Gimignano. Our trust was rewarded. We ate ourselves into oblivion and drank in sights we would have never seen. We were easily able to use the Italian that the author taught us. This is a very useful book for the would-be traveler to Italy. It is also a real pleasure to read. There is a chapter where she is searching for her daughter through 'streets that de Chirico might have painted' that gave me goosebumps.
